This part was installed with the Accel distributor cap on a 99 Dodge Ram 3. 8L. * * * If all things are kept equal, I lost about 4 miles per gallon, which comes to about 100 miles in a It seems to me that no Accel product (plugs, wires, coils, etc. ) has ever helped me improve the performance of any modern vehicle I have.

Although the tip is thicker than the original OEM part, the spring load at the center does not seem to be much different. As for the tip, it is also not as wide as it once was, but based on my Grand Cherokee's increase in mileage from 18 to 22 (highway), it may not have needed the extra width. Along with this, the distributor cap was replaced by an Accel distributor. Although I only had about 25K left on my old parts, I guess I had to buy these.
Normally, a 2L Magnum is used. There are only about 500 miles on the Jeep, but it runs fine. As part of the Accel cap installation, I replaced the A portion of my previous rotor tang's center metal strip was partially melted. This may have been caused by I'm still not sure if this one will last for very long, but thus far it's going well.
On my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 5 I installed it about 2 years ago. The engine is a 4. 6L with 200,000 miles, and it runs great. At that time, there were also a number of other installations.
There are 9Ls. The new one installs very easily as the old one did, and when the new coil is used with autolite irdium plugs and Taylor street thunder 8mm wires, it runs smoothly and efficiently.
