Buying this pump from Amazon is a great idea. The fittings and mounting hardware included in this description were not supplied by Com Services LLC! It seems like it would be a bit of a challenge mounting it and installing it without the prefilter. The only thing I have left is a female threaded connection on one end and no bolts. It seems that I will have to upgrade my pump in the near future to a better model. However, I cannot give it less than 4 stars because I do not have a lot of experience with this model of pump.
Compared to an OEM fuel pump on a Yamaha motorcycle, this is a great alternative. It was able to be made to function with some additional fittings, and today it works successfully. This universal pump came with a price tag of 250 dollars or I could spend that much money on an OEM.
When I converted a fuel injected BMW to a carburetor, I used one of these pumps in place of the high-pressure pump Pump for high pressure. We've had it installed in the same place as the old pump for well over a year and it has been working fine We just connected the pump wires to the new pump. It has been there for over 10 years, and I haven't had any pump failures. I have a similar pump on my Citron 2CV. The key to a proper operation in either case is to mount the pump(s) as low as possible in the vehicle so that it will 'push' the fuel instead of try A recent update In July, 2008, I purchased another of these pumps to have as a backup. A couple of years ago, the car was experiencing trouble getting fuel to its fuel tanks (original Mr. Gasket pump). Rather than abandon my spare Mr. Gasket pump, I decided to mount it. I got about 10 minutes out of the pump before it died, as did the other reviewers. As a result, I would lower my star rating if I could figure out how to do it (I managed to do it) I have deleted the review and reposted it. The bottom line is that I would not buy another pump similar to this one. On the other two, I probably just got lucky.
My carbureted Kawasaki Teryx's vacuum operated pump was faulty, so I replaced it with this one. I love it! The next machine I will try it on is my Bobcat skid loader.
I learned something. You should not order parts that you are not going to test before the return window shuts. A pump in this system failed to function. At the time of arrival, it was dead.
The generator failed the third time it was run. There was hardly any time for the whole thing to run. The product was not up to par.
It worked great. My inverter generator was able to run with this pump using a custom fuel tank combination. As a result of this fuel pump, the carburetor will not flood, and fuel will run down 36ft length to the generator with no leaks. I am amazed at how quiet it is, especially when I compare it to complaints about other pumps for sale.
