This isn't a re-usable item. It's an oil filter that's meant to be thrown away. Stainless steel filters are the best option if you want a washable/reusable filter.

So much garbage has been filtered out.
I prefer disposable filters because they allow me to keep things extra clean and avoid worrying about debris that didn't wash out of a reusable filter.
