I am very happy with the product and cannot wait to use it. My gas mileage is going down because I'm constantly stomping on the loud pedal to hear that great sound the hemi/flowmaster makes. I honestly can't put a price on the sound. This car was able to be professionally installed in my driveway in an hour, including the exhaust clamps that come with it. The reviews I've seen say that they don't work, but that's not the case. The factory piping has a notch that lines up with the notch on the flowmaster muffler. When the nipple is not in the notch, the exhaust will leak if it's not sealed properly.
The exhaust leaks I found had to do with the engine. We are provided with garbage clamps! New clamps were ordered for the inlet and outlet, and there has been no leak since. You can't rely on the clamps that are provided. I even used high temp RTV. It worked somewhat, but there were still a few No matter how much torque you put on those clamps the inlet moved after a week, no matter what you tried. After purchasing Walker Lap clamps II, I had to replace the clamps. The width of the coffin has been reduced to 25 inches 3. , 33231), and 0. 25 in (WLK-. 25 in It was easy to install these clamps, and I found that there was no leak at all! It wouldn't be worth your time to waste your time on those BS clamps!.
In a nutshell You better listen up, folks, because this is a loud one and it's designed that way. My 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Classic is equipped with it. The clamps appear to be a cause of complaint among everyone. You need to use some serious muscle power to tighten these clamps. When you do not tighten them to the point where the band conforms to the wedge blocks in the clamp, you have not tightened them The second reason is using rubber bands over the notched screw on the top of your exhaust pipe. The groove on your muffler aligns with the notched screw, so you shouldn't put the band over it. Putting it behind the front of the truck (towards the front thereof) is okay. It appears the clamps were changed between reviews since the ones that I received do not resemble those pictured in others. Yes, the transmission is loud, it's got a bit of a drone, and it gets annoying at times because it has eight gears. However, if you tap the guess, people will be able to hear you.
I've never seen an exhaust that drops panty like this one. My experience so far is that the videos that I have seen do not adequately convey the aggressiveness and the loudness of this exhaust. I have not noticed any drone, and I definitely notice an improvement in performance. The clamps were easy to install, but I have not run into any leaking issues as many other people have with the clamps. I've only had it installed for a couple days, but there is no evidence of leakage. In order to ensure that there were no leaks, I used exhaust sealer.
Now that I've had this muffler on my 2015 Ram for a week, I'm happy with it. Despite my expectations, it sounds much better than the stock, although it isn't as loud as I expected. There are YouTube reviews that say it will wake the neighbors (i. e. , you will wake them up). My apartment is a duplex, so I can leave for work without a problem. At cold start for about 15 seconds, it sounds negative and aggressive, but then goes away. When you want it to, it sounds like a roaring lion A tad of crackle can be heard when it's at an idle, can be heard around 45 mph. I feel I did not regret buying it. I have stock duals and left the resonators on, and it is just the right balance between calm and aggressive. As far as I'm concerned, the clamps provided have given me no problems. Make sure they're installed in a precise manner. If you are looking for a balance, I highly recommend this book.
It was received yesterday, and I installed it right away. No leaking at all due to the good clamps holding the muffler in place. On the performance side, he sounds aggressive from within the cab, and he sounds like a wild animal from the outside. He gains a few horsepower, but he doesn't sound sluggish. Neither I nor anyone else knows whether or not the 2mpg gain everybody else claims is true, but I will be taking a road trip to find out for myself. It is not possible to use a Usually when you break in a muffler it leaves a weird lingering smell, so I'm waiting for that to reduce. I like how it is getting louder as it breaks in. Whenever I've owned a V8, I've always preferred the Outlaw series.
The number of ports is 25. Till I can get better clamps, I'm gonna have to make do. However, it is the muffler that was faulty. Quality has been taken into consideration when it was manufactured. I also like the fit of the shoes. It's great to hear the sound! MDS, look up YouTube vid to see how to turn it off. ) The one I bought came in black, which I like because my truck is black, too. Nevertheless, the muffler would have been under the truck so it wouldn't have mattered in either case. The black color was an added bonus. There were some reviews claiming to have received aluminum mufflers. The muffler was enclosed with a sticker sheet from Flowmaster as well! This is another bonus because I like to stick those kinds of stickers on my tool chests Therefore, I believe this is a good fit for good sound at a good price. It does not come with clamps though.
The drone is an added bonus. Guys, it is well made and the fit and finish is excellent. I find it just too aggressive to deal with every day of my life. There almost never is a time when you don't hear it, and on the highway you never hear it, and as the 8 gear hunts for gears in town, you always hear it, and your neighbors are going to hate you the next morning. IF this is what you're looking for, then this one is installed a Magnaflow and I can't say enough good things about it.
