The LS1 recently completed a forged build with a big Texas speed cam and CNC ported 243 heads, installed on a 2000 Trans Am. The tubes were long and the off-ramp was steep A road called With the Magnaflow catback it was finished off. There's a humming and rumbling sound at low rpms, followed by a screaming sound at high rpms. I was very pleased with it as it turned my basically race car into a completely street-legal ride. No drone. There is no compromise on quality of any component. My tips began sitting unevenly a few moments after I tightened the clamps they must've torqued while I tightened the clamps, so I'll have to play around with it.
Rumble like it is in the old days. The quality of what you pay for is what you get. A nice stainless steel set up that can be put up very easily on stands in the driveway. In terms of fitment issues others may have, I don't see them. I found this to be one of the easiest catbacks to install. With the new hangers, it's no longer a guessing game. You're not supposed to color in this book, you have to do some work. Whenever you are given directions, you should follow them. Not all the screws should be tightened. You need to make sure it is all in place where you wish it to be. Finally, tighten it again by holding the end up and snugging it up. There may be a need to twist the muffler to get the tailpipes where they should be. It will make things go smoother when you adjust the joints by squirting them with some lubricant. With this Fbody, you'll have yourself a nice ole rumblin' beast. Where it sounds best is over water, with a mellow rumble cruising and no drones. you're looking for a system that is obnoxiously loud, this is not for you.
A new update This exhaust works fine on my 02 Camaro SS. Fitment issues. Love it on my car. When cruising, the engine has a nice rumble, and when driving with gusto it sounds great. A very small drone is inside of the car, which is probably its best feature. An improvement in performance can be seen, but it's not significant. As for the noise of the exhaust, it's not very loud, so look elsewhere if you like loud exhaust. In addition to how high quality the system was, I was impressed by the nifty hanger setup they included to keep the tips from moving around (2 additional hangers in addition to the factory ones)
Update As I used this exhaust for a couple days, a few things occurred to me. In addition, the passenger side rear tailpipe/tip is way closer to the center of the car than the driver side, which makes the car look incredibly bad when viewed Regarding these issues, I have sent an email to magnaflow and am waiting for a As soon as I have updated it, I will publish it. The second update is here To get the fit to be decent, a few things have been changed. In order to fix the hanger that is too tall, you have to cut it at the 90 degree bend and then heat it up and bend it into a "new" hanger, so that it fits properly (see picture). 2. Cut about an inch off of the driver side outlet on the muffler and an inch off of the driver side tailpipe inlet. Then cut new "slits" in that place, this will allow you to move the Lastly, slide the passenger side tailpipe off of the exhaust as far as possible without letting any air leak out. If you do #2 and #3, it will greatly improve the symmetry of the tips (originally the driver's side tip was way closer to the center than the passenger's side tip, and looked awful). It is still not perfect, but what's better than nothing. My question is how can magnaflow screw up the fitment this badly on such a common application? I've seen a lot of positive reviews, but none of them mention any of these downsides? There has still been no response from them, maybe they will send me some tailpipes that will fit, but I seriously.
It seems that all the components are of good quality. In my 1999 Z28, it did not fit very well. Not only did the kit not come with the second page of instructions (print it off from the site), the kit did not exactly match the sketches. In a nutshell, there were three major problems This is true1. placed the intermediate pipe joint exact above the axle, the part of the design which has the greatest need for space. The clamp can simply be inserted into the hole. During the day, it is likely to hit something. 1. 2. There is no way to attach the bracket attached to the muffler assembly 1. 2. 3. In addition, the bracket for the outlet on the drivers side is also positioned incorrectly. There is no question that this item should be returned.
There is no doubt. I have made several performance upgrades over the years, but this is by far the easiest (and most efficient considering the amount of work involved). A stuffy nose can be cleared by doing so. It took the majority of the time to remove the old ugly It had to be cut because the overhang was too high There is a perfect fit between every clamp, every place on the axle. Best of all, it gives voice to your V8, deep, powerful, potentially aggressive but not so loud that you become THAT neighbor that no one wants to be around. It's not that she doesn't growl openly, it's just that she does growl but from a distance which isn't overbearing, not to the person on the outside but to the matter inside. There is not enough praise to be given for this.
I bought this for my 2002 Pontiac Trans Am and it fits perfectly. I like how it sounds. It is only a few decibels louder at idle, but it has a deep bass tone and sounds really good when you rev it. You will not be able to hear the exhaust properly if you want a loud exhaust.
I love the way my 99 Trans Am sounds and looks with the exhaust. I was pleased with the fit and the ease of installation. A jack stand was positioned in my driveway so that it could be lifted. Several other reviews mentioned they had issues. They must be incompetent based on what I have read. The only thing you have to do is put the socks all on first and line them up before securing them.
I am glad I tried it! Those mufflers give my car the deep sound I wanted, but they are also loud when the car is Clean, powerful, not obnoxious, is what this music sounds like. Likewise, the highway speed does not produce any droning sound. As far as installation goes, it went pretty smoothly, although I had to trim some of the brackets on the left pipe in order to make it match the height of the right pipe. We were very satisfied with the packaging and delivery of our order This is top-notch!.
