My cast aluminum valve cover has a fill opening. I cut the opening with a hole saw and attached the bung from underneath with 6-inch screws. 32 stainless steel screws and J-bolts B Weld epoxy is a type of epoxy that is used to join two pieces of It looks and performs admirably.
They look great and work well. This item can't be welded on, but it can be bolted on and is well machined for the job. The items' craftsmanship is good, but there were some differences between the two I received. Overall, if you're looking for a simple filler cap to bolt on, this is a good option. If you decide to weld it on, don't bother. You won't be able to weld them on and fill the holes without distorting the internal threads of the cap itself because of the machined screw holes. The recessed holes accept 6 hex head screws perfectly.
My '34 Ford got a new set of welded aluminum valve covers, which came with a screw-off oil filler cap, which was a great addition. br>br>Excellent finish and a nice knurled cap with an O-ring seal. br>br>Mounted with stainless hardware and nylock nuts purchased elsewhere (so there's no loose hardware in my engine), and sealed with clear high temp RTV. Excellent value for money! The valve cover oil fill is nearly impossible to access with decorative coil covers, so I used this as an oil fill on an LS project. This is a good solution to the problem. Six screws are drilled and countersunk into the flange.
Despite the fact that it was designed to be bolted on with flat head machine screws, I welded this part to the valve cover. it's fantastic.
This item is well-made, but it doesn't fit my needs. I would not recommend this product because it does not include any hardware or a gasket.
My CJ7's valve cover is made of cast aluminum. It works perfectly and does not leak oil as the rubber stopper did. This is an excellent product.
