One type of dipstick is used in the pan, while the other is used in the block. You'll need the inverse of this.
It's a press-in application that should fit a 1972 Ford Bronco 302, as I have a 302 89' with a press-in dipstick.
Yes, I believe that is correct. My truck is a 1995 Ford F150 with a 5. 0L 302. If you go to the official website, they'll give you a complete list, which will solve your problem with rotting dipstick tubes. I went through three of them before I came across this one.

Aftermarket headers can cause problems; I almost couldn't install mine because of clearance issues; it was touching the exhaust a little, which was against the instructions. So, after 2 hours, I was able to clear it, but it's now angled back against the firewall and a pain to check oil, but it's still doable. It'll be difficult to install unless you have stock headers.
If you're using long tube headers, this is a must-have. I wasted a lot of time trying to bend the original tube and get it back into the block, and I eventually broke it. It took about 15 minutes to install this one.
The original location of the timing cover did not provide an accurate reading. I was in desperate need of a dipstick, and this was exactly what I needed. Its low-profile design allows it to fit perfectly between the driver's side header pipes. It looks fantastic!.
For work, there are 150 trucks. These are fantastic trucks, but they have a few flaws, one of which is a rusted oil dipstick tube that runs through the exhaust manifold. This occurs once every three years. 5 years. Without removing the oil pan, it's extremely difficult to replace. On a 4x4, this is also a very difficult task. br> After the second replacement rusted through, I discovered this fantastic product, which fit perfectly, looks great, appears to be made of high-quality materials, and appears to be rust-resistant. I hope. br>I am extremely pleased with this MADE IN THE USA product. br>It fits my 1995 Ford F150 w/5. 0 engine is in excellent condition.
It was well worth the money! It simply does not get any better.
It's better to use a steel handle because aluminum transfers heat too quickly to your hands, leaving it hot to the touch even after it has cooled down!.
The unit performed admirably, as have all Lokar products in the past for me.
