The 5001 is for a chevy small block. The 409 is a large-block engine. The 5003 is something I'd consider.

Very nice, pricey, but I'm satisfied with my purchase and decision to avoid the $20 dipsticks. I used this for my 91 firebird 305 tbi when I broke my oil diptick that was rust welded to the header bolt while removing the stock manifolds. I opened up the hole as much as possible for mounting to Hooker headers 2460HKR and using arp 5/16 head 3/8-inch arp 5/16-inch arp 5/16-inch arp 5/16-inch arp 5/16-inch arp 5/16-inch arp 5/16-inch arp 5 To clear the tubes, use 18 stainless steel header bolts. 4"- 6" could be a really good fit. After the mounting bracket, it's 6" longer, but it still works and looks great. I'll definitely buy Lokar again if and when the time comes.
On a gen 1 SBC 350, I replaced a corroded oil dip stick. Even with long tube patriot headers, it works great, is accurate, and looks great. It was well worth the money.
It's a great-looking piece that's not too difficult to put together. It was a little more difficult to tighten the bracket because of the headers, but not by much. Better than the stock one by a long shot.
After installing headers on my vehicle, I discovered that the stock oil tube part would no longer fit. br>The shipping was quick, and the fit is excellent (unlike the headers). br>I will definitely recommend this product to my friends.
As usual, the fit is perfect, there are no leaks, and the readings are accurate.
Excellent product and quick delivery.
Although Lokar products are excellent, this one is defective. Amazon has it listed as a sbc engine for up to 79 dollars, but it should be for 80 dollars and up. After consulting the Lokar website, I went back and purchased the correct one.
