305 ho small block in a 1987 Monte Carlo SS. It went off without a hitch. I'm sure I'll only use it a few times in my life, but it's nice to have one in the collection. Yes, you can improvise things to make them work, but this thing is sturdy and well-fitting.
This tool worked great for reinstalling the crank gear on my 1996 Impala SS. Don't bang it in, that's not what this tool is for; it's for reinstalling it. However, you are free to do whatever you want with it.
My brother has not yet used it, but he is pleased with the purchase.
I'll keep it in my shop because it's a must-have. It was used on a cam that was installed in my 454 Chevy.
This socket was designed to fit perfectly on GM V6 and V8 crankshafts.
I used this tool on a Chevy SB a few years ago, and it sure beats hammering on the sproket with a 2x4. br>When I did my tool inventory, it was missing, so I had to order another one.
The tool for installing the crankshaft gear was perfect. The gear was pressed into the crank shaft slowly, steadily, and smoothly.
