Pulling the motor is required if the job is to be done correctly. It's not nearly as difficult as you might believe. Anyway, I used this pan in conjunction with a Moroso stud and gasket kit.
- You must use a small Ford sealer as directed by the instructions.
- Find out how to tighten pan bolts by doing some research online. Begin in the center and work your way out.
- In two stages, torque the nuts onto the stud.
- At the flywheel and harmonic balancer, the gasket must fit perfectly.
- If your seal is spewing oil, this is for you. The seal is not properly seated. If you attempt to complete this task while the engine is running, you will exacerbate your problem. If you're a licensed mechanic working on the vehicle's engine. You should be ashamed of yourself. So, let's fast forward to the present day. My oil pan hasn't been touched in a long time. There wasn't even a smidgeon of oil dripping or seeping. If I had to do it all over again, I would take the same path. Each time I use one of Moroso's products, I grow to appreciate it even more. Thank you very much; it was well worth the money.
Definitely not MOROSO! I should have read the other reviews first. This pan would not fit, despite the fact that I had purchased the correct and matching gasket. Unfortunately, the shop is unable to complete this work, and it is therefore too late to return. Make sure you don't make the same mistake I did and put your faith in this distributor.
It bears the SPI logo. Spectra Premium Industries (Canadian Engineering) is the name of the company. Co. For OBS, this is useful). I had hoped for a Moroso Oil Pan, but instead received a pan from SPI in Canada. It came in a box with a Moroso part number on it. br> On the pan itself, there is a huge "Moroso" sticker. br>However, it is clearly stamped SPIbr>Moroso is in Connecticut. This isn't a Moroso Oil Pan as advertised, as far as I can tell! br>Apart from the fact that it is stamped "SPI," another telltale sign is that it did not come with the magnetic oil drain plug that the genuine Moroso Oil Pan does! br>It also does not appear to be finished in the Moroso series. The second coat is a 1-inch thick black coat. The final coat is a gloss black epoxy powdercoat applied in a mil thick electrocoat. This process has been fine-tuned over many years of oil pan building experience, as well as extensive salt spray testing of the Moroso oil pan design. The O. I'm not sure how the SPI oil pan that came in a box with a Moroso label compares to the OEM or REAL Moroso Product. br>br>I'm sending it back and opting for a more expensive but Genuine Product. br>the SPI may be thicker, but it is definitely not finished to last. It's possible that it's just spray painted to look like OEM, which is rusting.
It appears to be identical to my Ford pan, which I recently removed from the truck. It should be thicker, but it doesn't seem to be. I didn't use any kind of measuring device to determine thickness, but it appears to be the same. Because it appears to be just spray paint, don't expect it to be particularly thick or powder-coated. When I called Moroso, he said it was an authentic pan with epoxy powder coating, but it didn't look like it to my untrained eye. A magnetic drain plug is also not present. If I had to buy it all over again, I'd get the Ford pan and put bed-rails on it. On it, use a liner spray or POR 15.
Don't forget the dipstick adapter; since you're replacing the pan, you might as well replace it as well.
The product is of excellent quality.
When I inquired about it, they stated that they manufacture them to their specifications, ship them to them, inspect them, apply their three coat paint process, apply stickers, and then send them out with a magnetic plug. There you have it, yet another excellent Moroso product.
Nice pan. Enamel and the paint used are incompatible. I used a Moroso gasket that was exactly the same as the original. There are no problems.
