Although I am not familiar with the 2016 Camaro, I did install this catch can on a 2015 Chevy SS that may be similar. In order to be close to the PCV ports, I needed to make a custom bracket on the Pass Side front of the engine. In addition, I needed to buy a right-hand drive. The top has an angled fit. Last but not least, the Mishimoto uses a much larger hose diameter than the GM tube connections. Inside the Mishimoto-II, I used a sleeve made of smaller diameter rubber tubing. supplied adhesive-coated hose and clamped both over the GM connection points I chose the Mishimoto because the sintered bronze filter is more effective and durable than the more common wire wool mesh, and the larger tube size is good for performance. It functions admirably.

The catch can is very well designed. This assembly's fittings, filters, and separators were all loose. Clearly, the screws were not tightened during the assembly process. Furthermore, the hose that comes with it is clearly too small for the fittings that come with it. I had extra AN hose around the shop, so it wasn't a big deal, but for the price, I expected perfection. The fittings are attractive, the can's design is attractive, and the machining quality is excellent.
The hoses needed to be connected, and I needed a mechanic to do it. There are no instructions on the product, and there is no mounting hardware included.
It does an excellent job of catching and collecting a significant amount of blow by. To ensure clearance, purchase a 90 degree top banjo bolt valve. The quality of everything included is excellent. It's well worth the money, and it's simple to put together and take apart for cleaning. Bottom petcock drains are readily available, and they are simple to install and use. For the Evo X, I installed two of these.
I was impressed by the catch's sleek design.
Under the hood, there's a lot of beauty. For the average Joe, it's completely unnecessary. This is the can for you if you have a large sum of money to spend! There are many more high-quality products available if you're looking for a functional piece of equipment without the cost. This, on the other hand, could be THE best oil catch can on the market!.
Can be of excellent quality. There are a lot of catch can options for my Volkswagen (42draftdesigns, 034motorsport, integrated engineering, and so on), but I chose this one instead. A few months ago, I met a Mishimoto representative at a car show, and he was a really nice guy- extremely well informed When you order this can, the packaging is the first thing you'll notice. It comes in a fairly large box, but once opened, everything is well-organized and packed. The clamps and hardware are packaged in a handy zipper pouch. The hose clamps that come with it are black, which I thought was a great idea because I was always bothered by shiny hose clamps against black silicone hoses, but that's probably just my OCD talking. br>br>It comes with a decent amount of 5/8" hose, but I didn't use it because my VW's stock PCV system uses 3/4" hose. Fortunately, the 3/4" silicone hose I bought bit down on the 5/8" fitting on the catch can and didn't leak. I later purchased proper silicone reducers to ensure that everything fit snugly. br>br>One issue I had with the hose that came with the can was that it had a disgusting residue on the inside of it - It resembles yellow snot in appearance. I tossed it out because I had no idea what it was. br>br>Another feature I like is how easily it disassembles, and what a sexy can it is. When you hold it in your hands, you can tell it's a very well-made item. Exceptionally strong. The filter is absolutely brilliant - This filter cleans up nicely with a little hot water and soap, unlike the old catch can I had that used wire mesh (which never seemed to clean up properly). And this thing fits in almost any space. The can can be oriented in any direction once the bracket is installed. So, let's say your can "has" to fit in a specific location, and you "need" your inlet to face "that" direction. With this can, that won't be an issue. Install the bracket where you want the can to be displayed, and the can can be oriented in any direction. br>br>There are two design complaints. First and foremost, the inlet is located on the top. Though it can be mounted anywhere, the inlet pointing straight up makes routing hoses difficult unless you spend the extra money on extra fittings. The can does not seal well, which is my second gripe. Even after the winter was over, I kept getting an oil/water mix in the can. Before the oil/water mix went away, I had to use thread sealer tape on all of the fittings as well as the can itself. In the winter, using a catch can is a pain, and the Mishimoto can is no exception. But- My intercooler pipes are always spotless during the summer months. I empty the can once a month or so, and I'm always amazed at how much garbage it collects. To avoid having to deal with water/oil mixture getting past the filter and frozen cans next winter, I'll simply reinstall my stock PVC system. br>br>As I previously stated, Mishimoto charges LUDICROUS amounts of money for extra fittings, which is why I deducted an additional star. It's almost as if they're attempting to extort money from you. And I'm not talking about a ten-dollar bill here. 15$. We're talking about $52 here! It's only for ONE fitting! That amount is almost 30% of the total cost of the can! Finally, you can only get the fitting from Mishimoto, and they charge $12 for shipping a tiny little fitting that fits in an envelope. Mishimoto should have a drop-down selection menu BEFORE you buy the can, allowing you to choose which fittings you want at a much more reasonable price; after all, if this can is truly as universal as they claim, why charge so much more for optional fittings? It's a bit of a stretch to call something "universal"- Isn't that so?.
Catch cans are great if you don't have any other option but to suck that garbage back into your system. They do not, however, completely remove oil vapors from crank case vapors returning to your intake system. You'd be better off running a tube under your truck or car to the back and venting those fumes. br>br>I paid $325 for shipping on Mishimoto's website, and it was a complete rip-off. If you absolutely must have one, get a cheaper one; it will not stop everything, but it will help; however, I believe this one is overpriced. Although it is probably the best catch can available, it does not completely eliminate oil vapor. There are no fittings included, and the hoses and threads are of different sizes. Even their tech support isn't sure what the threads are, despite the fact that I was told they were - I needed a hose for 6AN, so I ordered one. It doesn't fit, as you might have guessed.
