It attaches further down the column than the tilt does, so I'm confident it will work.
It has the ability to be expanded. On my 92 Bronco with 4 inches of lift, I'm using it. There is no need to trim anything.
On the same truck, I had a direct bolt in. There will be no cutting involved. People have told me otherwise, but my 1997 Ford F350 4x4 fit perfectly.

In comparison to the stock shaft, this is a significant improvement. It had to be cut down by 3 inches in order for it to collapse. Someone with a body lift would be ideal for this. It's the same length when it's collapsed as it is when it's fully extended. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. It's the second day that I've had it on. Steering is a lot tighter now. If you need to shorten the shaft, it will take between 1 and 2 hours to install. Installing instructions were clear and concise, despite the fact that they had to be shortened. Much less expensive and of higher quality than the Doorman model.
To get the shaft through the firewall seal, make sure you have a good set of Allen wrenches to remove the set screws that hold the universal joint in place. When I was removing the long set screw, I was afraid I'd snap my Allen wrench. Anyone who claims it is too long or needs to be cut is mistaken; you must cut the zip tie around the rubber that covers the screw you must remove in order for the shaft to collapse. To get the shaft to collapse, I had to use WD40 as well. It was a simple install once I figured out how to do it. It's a huge improvement over stock, and it's a lot more durable. Would 100% recommend it to 100% other people.
Although the instructions do not state it, you must cut the shaft to length in order for it to fit. My vehicle is a 1993 Ford F350 2WD with a 7. This shaft, fully collapsed, was nowhere near fitting onto the steering box of a 3 liter turbocharged engine. To slide the ujoint over the steering box shaft, I had to unbolt it from inside the cab and unbolt the steering box. The collapsible steering shaft safety feature is also no longer available. It's widely agreed that 4 should be cut. To make it fit, I cut 5" off the shaft. It's a shame because the shaft is of exceptional quality and must outperform the OEM.
With needle bearing u joints, no rag, and no clips, this works perfectly. Beefy to the max. Worth it.
It arrived promptly and is in excellent working condition. It's a good oem replacement, and I haven't had any issues with it! Now we'll have to wait and see how long it will last.
This thing is absolutely fantastic and well worth the money.
It was a perfect match.
