This is a two-person game. Over a standard hose clamp, a two-piece chrome cover is used. Outside of the cover, only the screw portion of the hose clamp is visible.
They work with my Harley braided fuel lines, and I'm confident they'll work with your outboard motor as well. Peter C.
I placed an order for chrome. The clamps are also available in silver, blue, and red, and are the ideal finishing touch for any hose or line that requires one. Peter C.
On my bike, I have chrome, and they do come in red. To be certain, Peter C., you should request the color you want.

the wrong way up When I ordered these, I must admit that I was distracted by the gleaming chrome and neglected to consider the hole size. When the item specifies 3/8 and you know your hose is 3/8, the issue is that you forget the hose hole is three freakin' eights. It's not the hose itself that's the issue. So, because my shiny new chrome hose cover wouldn't fit the way it was supposed to, I had to remove the nut with the 3/8 hole, flip the hose clamp cover upside down, and then tighten with the clamp screw. This means the shiny chrome hose cover is loose and moves around a little, but it's not rattley or anything. the wrong way up They still look cool, so it's not a big deal.
Only for the purpose of 'demonstration'. Clamps are a complete waste of time. The hose clamps (the important part inside the chrome exterior shell) on these are the worst. They're stripped out, broken, creased, and then the screw backs out once it's locked up. I took it apart and replaced the clamps with Ideal Tridon Hose clamps, and it's much better now. The shell is flimsily constructed and heavily plated in chrome. Press- Fit is a jerk who screams about Spectre's QC. br>I'm not looking for anything flashy; all I want is something to protect my knuckles from the hose clamp's sharp end. br>It's not worth it just for a big pot of gold. Fake nuts made of metal.
Too large and bulky to use on connections in close quarters, and once clamped, can become a loose fit. I bought these to go with the Spectre Performance (29498) 3/8" x 3' clamp, but it turned out to be unusable due to poor quality, so I didn't use them.
These clamps would be fantastic if they were made with high-quality screw clamps. The clamp that they've mated with the cover is a complete waste of time. I replaced the Spectre clamps with high-quality screw clamps and threw away the Spectre clamps. Some of the Spectre products I've used over the years have been good, but there are a few that are complete garbage.
According to the package, 3/8" hose is required. The clamp on the left in the photos is a true 3/8" clamp, while the clamp on the right is the one that came with this package. It's the perfect fit for 1/2" hose.
These appear to be quite effective. I'm using them on 1/2 stainless braided vacuum hoses right now. To fit these clamps over the 1/2 fittings, I had to drill out the openings on the ends. However, they perform admirably and have a pleasing appearance. I was able to conceal the screw clamp parts on the bottom so that they are barely visible. These appear to be well-made for the purpose.
When installed, these fittings have a very nice appearance. However, I had to separate them in order for the hose clamp to fit over the fuel line I was using them on. Because of the fuel line cover, it wouldn't open far enough without a little coaxing, but once I got the hose clamp over it, it buttoned up nicely and installed perfectly. I am very pleased with these.
The philips head screws are extremely difficult to turn, despite the fact that the product appears to be of good quality.
