It's for changing the batteries in the alarm case. To separate the front case from the main unit, you place it between the two.
Four cable zip ties (two around the riser and two around the handle bar) were used to secure it to the handle bar riser.
No, it does not vibrate, but if it goes off in a store, you will most likely hear it. It makes a lot of noise.

There's no need to send this back. I won't go into detail because other users have already done so. The photos show me installing the alarm within the battery enclosure for my electric bicycle's battery and controller, closing it, and then confirming that the alarm is still audible and the remote is still working while I'm across the street. After that, I went upstairs in my house and discovered that the alarm is audible (albeit faintly) while inside the enclosure. I'm sure I'd be able to hear the alarm from outside the enclosure. Outside the enclosure, it's actually so loud that I'm not going to arm it all the time because it's too loud, and I don't want to bother my family or anyone else unless I know I'll be leaving the bicycle out for an extended period of time. br>br>I'll attach a video later so you can see what I mean. While writing the review on my phone, I am unable to include a video. In the video, I compare this alarm to another bike alarm I purchased from Amazon many years ago. br>br>This is a no-brainer product. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: I added the video, but I forgot to mention that my current phone, the One Plus 3T, has audio recording issues, so the alarm volume isn't accurately represented in the video. I'm waiting for the One Plus 6T to arrive at my house next week, and if I don't get around to it, I'll probably do the video again. I felt compelled to make this effort because more people require this alarm for their mobile property.
It makes a "chirp" when you arm this alarm on your bike and it is moved by a thief. "Hey, there's an alarm," it says to the thief. Find it, cut the zip ties, and slam it. " It should, in my opinion, sound like a car alarm when you press the button. There was no prior notice! This alarm is not something I would recommend.
I've been using this alarm for a few months now, and I'm happy with it. There is a serious flaw here. br>br>After months of use, I've discovered a serious flaw in this alarm, and this is it. If the remote control's battery dies, the only way to disarm the alarm is to cut it off whatever it's mounted to, disassemble it, and remove the batteries. This, of course, means that if you have an alarm on your bike and the remote is dead, you'll have to listen to the alarm sound until you can get off the bike and replace the batteries. Furthermore, the remote's battery is an unusual type, and there is no indication on the instructions as to what type of battery it is. If the light on your remote begins to dim, simply replace the battery, according to the instructions. This is the deciding factor.
This was an incredible product. I happened to come across this item by chance, but I'm glad I did. It's all in the video I made. It's extremely loud and provides me with a sense of security. I am aware of how easy it is to steal a bike or motorcycle, so this item makes me happy because it is safer. I could have put it wherever I wanted because it was small enough. I like how it has a key fob and functions similarly to a car alarm. This item comes highly recommended by me for anyone looking to keep something safe. I appreciate being able to purchase a high-quality security alarm at such a low cost.
For such a low price, I had no idea what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. I recently purchased my first electric bike, which cost me $1500, so you can imagine how concerned I am about thievery. According to what I've heard, ebikes are a very popular target for thieves. br> It's extremely sensitive; simply touching the bike sets it off. I managed to conceal it inside the plastic box that houses my electric motor controller. br>With this alarm, a disc brake lock, and a chain/lock system installed, I feel safe leaving it outside of the mall for a two-hour movie at the theater. When people see me turn on the alarm, they are amazed. They don't realize how straightforward it is. It's fantastic, and I'm going to add one to my next bike as well.
I'd recommend using both the tape squares and zip ties to keep it secure, and mounting it in an inconspicuous location. Under the seat, perhaps, or wedged somewhere in the frame. Installation instructions are very simple to follow. When the bike is armed, the alarm will go off for a few seconds if you move it once, but it will stay on if you move it repeatedly after that. I couldn't be happier with this product; it just makes you feel a little safer when you leave your bike unattended, but a bike lock is always a good idea. However, if you don't have nut locks, this is a great way to prevent someone from removing your bike's wheels.
