I bought a Large for my 9-year-old. 5 boot. It works well because it makes getting over the heel easier when you're in a hurry. Does that make sense?
There are no zippers and everything is held together with Velcro. Mine worked perfectly the first time I used them.

The bottom is open and has an elastic strap that holds it to your show. This strap keeps getting tangled up on the foot peg; the last time I tried to untangle it so I could reposition my foot to shift, I had to pull so hard that it ripped right up the side; difficult to get on at best if it's raining and there's nothing to lean against.
What can I say, my shoe barely fits in to the tip of the cover, leaving about an inch, and the rest of the cover hangs loosely by the velcro. The fit did not impress me at all. I'd pass on this one, but size 13 shoe covers are extremely difficult to come by.
Adding to your cargo is a breeze. The garment is simple to put on and remove. It seems to work okay. However, because the bottoms are open, you should wear good boots.
I rode through three rain storms between south Georgia and Atlanta and a couple more storms between Mt. Rushmore and South Dakota on my way from south Georgia to South Dakota. Vernon (Illinois) and Kansas City (Kansas) are two of the most populous cities in the United States These boot covers did an excellent job of keeping the rider's boots dry and happy. I got a great deal on these boot covers when I bought them, and an even better deal on a great product. My only concern is that the elastic under the heel could be a little shorter for a tighter fit. Overall, the price and performance of these boot covers far outweigh any minor gripes you may have; perhaps a 4 1/2 star rating would be more appropriate.
On my oil-cooled pipes, it doesn't burn or melt. There will be no issues. This was an excellent purchase. br>Wish it was orange, as it would be more reflective and brighter; however, the sizing is a little small. The rubber sole could be a little more sticky, but you can't have it all. br>I would buy it again.
I recently traveled 7000 miles on my motorcycle from Minnesota to Alaska, including about 1000 miles in the rain. My boots stayed relatively dry thanks to the boot covers. I've read complaints about the elastic band becoming tangled in the shifter lever or brake pedal. I had no issues and believe that getting caught on either of these would take some effort. The soles are a little slicker than the soles of my boots, so caution was required when stopping for gas, but they're not too bad. Overall, these are a useful addition to my raincoat collection.
On a recent trip, I put these boots to their first test and they performed admirably. Despite the fact that they worked well, I have two minor complaints: It was awkward and clumsy the first time I put them on, and it was not a pleasant experience. They're also quite bulky, and they obstruct my shifter a little. As I previously stated, these complaints are minor and have no bearing on the value or functionality of the product. I'm actually quite pleased with them because they do exactly what they say they will and keep my feet completely dry. If you asked me if I would recommend them, I would say without hesitation.
I haven't had the opportunity to test them yet, but they appear to be of good quality for the price.
