These chaps are nicely made. The brush travels easily with this. Actually, my biggest concern is the yuccas in southern California, which poke through right at the root. This would also seem to be the case for a snake fane.
Putting these to use all autumn, they are quiet rugged and durable. I'm not sure I'll go for the snake chaps when I need to replace them in twenty years, but I guess I still have a lot of time. The sizing chart was very inaccurate for the chicken legs, they were too big for me, I didn't have time to send them back so I had my mother in law take them in by about 2". It seems that the zippers on the bag are seriously sturdy, but I think the straps and snaps will fail. There are, however, cobblers who can easily fix those problems. If I buy some Cordura this summer and have those two items added, that's the only thing I would ask for. I will probably end up purchasing pockets on the outside and possibly a small knee pad. In the beginning, it was difficult to get them snugly fitted, but once they got there, it was almost like wearing a fitted glove.
I really like the fit. One more week until they are put to the test on our hog hunt in Louisiana. I am looking forward to them being very sturdy, and of course the fact that they are American made is the best part.
Using their calculator makes it very easy to size. They are very heavy and will be a good companion for Thorn, Cacti and other pointed items in the underbrush. Don't shorten your inseam, though, as they will be on the short side.
Having my fence lines in good order has greatly increased my sense of security.
