There is no difference between my fork legs and a I am able to use these because of their 5mm OD. It appears that the clamps are fully extended and that the extra three will not affect things at all. It would be fine to use 5mm.

The new ones are to replace five or six year old ones that I had purchased as part of a fairing installation kit five or six years ago. On the desk are the original fork clamps that were broken during a ride. They were made of thinner material and failed over time due to vibration and wind. The new ones are made of much thicker material and should last a whole lot longer. am not a fan of how these do not have a cushion or scuff guard like the previous ones did, so they will likely scratch.
I installed a Memphis Shades Malibu windscreen over them. The windscreen for my classic BMW R60/5 from 1973 was proving difficult to locate. Because of the odd fork size, I could not find anything that would fit in the four point mount windscreen. When I called Memphis Shades directly, the call taker couldn't think outside of the box and told me their products simply wouldn't fit my bike. Well, I ordered these and they fitted just fine. I added a Malibu windscreen to the bike and it looks awesome. The only issue I encountered was that the teeth of the clamp looked a bit pinched on the narrowest setting. The bench grinder worked well for them and made them fit with little effort. Not a big deal at all. Do not remove too many materials at once and go slow. Once that was done, they fit together like a glove.
For my Memphis Shade I did not benefit from purchasing these. Initially, I thought the connecting area would be adjustable so that I could use them for my tree area, but they weren't. Lastly, the appearance of the item was not as clean as what I would have preferred if it were made for it. In the end, I went back to the chain link fence rings that I was wearing at the time. Presented a better look and offered a wider variety of functions. As described, however, the product appeared to be.
Waste of time and money. A poor milling technique and improper alignment cause the teeth to appear misaligned. In addition to being flimsy and weak, the metal is also easily bent. A wide range of bends are possible, and the threading stripped out when trying to dial it in. You can get a better product if you spend a little more.
Depending on your skill level, you will have to file or bend the metal on your own, but be gentle, because the metal is so cheap, it will break if you are not careful.
It is made from cheap metal, so it is It was impossible to fit the pieces on the tiniest settings without grinding them. It was QD clamps from the windshield that I ended up using. After the package is opened, you cannot return it, so you won't be able to tell if it's garbage until it's opened by us.
It's made of cheap aluminum, and it bends or warps with little to no effort. One of the clamps' threads was damaged, and the notch to make them "adjustable" is a joke and doesn't hold up In the end, I just bought the Harley brand quick release clamps rather than these to go with a quarter fairing on my Harley.
