Excellent bulbs, backed by a warranty
5/5

These bulbs are EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Over the last six months, I've spent a lot of money on various websites trying out cheapo, off-brand LEDs that cost a dollar each, and let me tell you, they never worked well. br>br> I have a 2005 Silverado with map lights that are designed to fit around the old halogen bulbs perfectly. Because the bulb's base is so much wider than a standard halogen 194, the "super bright" LEDs I've tried (you know, the ones with a million little chips sticking out of them) never fit. Even the ones with a longer plug didn't seem to fit properly. They'd stick just far enough into the socket to light up and keep from falling out, but they'd never fully click in. These bulbs are a little wider than the originals, but they fit perfectly and leave enough room for the reflector to be reinstalled around them. After I take a caliper to one of the bulbs, I'll update this review with a precise width measurement. They're also brighter than any of the other bulbs I've tried, despite the fact that they're only about a third the size of the other bulbs on the market and have a frosted plastic cover over the chips. br>br>Another benefit of these is their portability. I've had cheap LEDs leave a sort of black soot on my dome light lens, which I determined was caused by burnt material from the chip's mounting board's edges. There's no need to be concerned about chip dust when using a completely sealed bulb. br>br>To summarize: 1. br>br> Light is produced in a crisp white and very bright manner. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br Because the bulb is sealed, there is less chance of moisture buildup and the chips will not flake or dust. 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. The plug's prongs are thick and sturdy, and they fit snugly in the socket. 4. br>br> It's only a hair wider than a standard 194 (but not by much). 5. br>br> As of the date of this purchase, the cost of a 194 from another brand name manufacturer is nearly $5 less. 6. br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> The bulbs are covered by an 8-year warranty! br>br>Philips has come up with a fantastic product! I'm replacing all of the bulbs in my truck with LEDs, and if Philips makes the bulb I need, I'll buy it. br>br>Update: br>It's been over a year, and they're still shining 1,000 suns on my truck.

I didn't get the "amber intense" as shown in the product photos, and they weren't any brighter than halogen bulbs
3/5

I had no trouble installing the bulbs in the car; after all, it's a 50/50 chance of getting it right the first time. br>That is the only positive thing I can say about the bulbs. I'm not sure why "amber intense" is listed when the box I received simply says "amber," which I'll upload to support my review. br>As for brightness, they don't appear to be any brighter than the stock halogens I replaced, so I'll be returning them, not only because of the lack of brightness, but also because of the misleading photos of a product I never received. I'm not sure if the "amber intense" is actually brighter, but after my experience with Philips LED, I'm not going to buy any more for any vehicle. I also have the "red intense" version of the same bulb, which is actually red, as well as the first 194 bulb I received from philips, so I assumed the "amber intense" would be similar, but it appears that philips has a habit of shipping something that isn't the same as the pictured products. br>How is it possible for Philips to produce products with the same name but different colors? In other words, if you buy "red intense," it will not match the intensity or even the color of a different size of the same manufacturer's bulb. br>I've included photos of the Philips LED in comparison to another brand, and the difference is clear. br>The philips dimmer LED on the right isn't much brighter than stock, and may even be dimmer. br>FAIL.

In less than two minutes, both bulbs had blown
3/5

I believe I may have received some duds; these lights have excellent reviews, but they did not perform as expected for me. In my Silverado, I had a blown tag light bulb, so I replaced it with these. One went out about a minute after it was installed. When the other side went out, I removed it and began inspecting the situation. After only 2 minutes of use, both bulbs were dead. I put one old bulb back in and replaced the burnt out bulb with a regular 194, and it's still working after three days. Definitely a letdown.

On the Versys x300, there is a significant difference
5/5

For riding my Versys x300 year-old motorcycle, I have heated handgrips and an electric suit. I need as many extra electrons as I can get because I'm round. Plus, I installed an led headlight for better visibility rather than saving electrons, so I had to replace the parking lights so the white headlight didn't look ridiculous. The bulbs were simple to install after I removed the majority of my bike's front end, and they are extremely bright and white. Because of the amount of time and effort required to access these bulbs, I knew I wanted a superior bulb that wouldn't break. I guess my pictures aren't fair because the led picture was taken at night, making it appear even brighter, but the difference is visible day or night.

Much brighter than a standard 194 bulb, which resulted in a "bulb out" error message in the DIC, but this was only a one-time occurrence, so it was fine
5/5

This LED bulb is a great substitute for a white incandescent bulb (194). However, the bulbs resulted in a "License Plate Light Out" message on the DIC of my 2015 RAM 3500 truck. The error message vanished without warning, and I'm not sure if it will reappearance. Apparently, the computer must keep an eye on that circuit to ensure that the filament resistance of the incandescent bulb is correct, as well as the current draw. Aside from that, this 194 LED light is noticeably brighter and whiter than the 194 incandescent bulb it replaces, but not excessively so. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> The message indicating the error was never returned. As a result, it's a good one. Checking license plate bulbs is a good idea at this point in time. I also purchased the Red. Red is represented by the color amber. Side marker lights with yellow lenses worked perfectly. NOTE: LEDs that are labeled "amber" are actually more yellow than amber. Clear lensed rooftop clearance lights fitted with 194NA (natural amber) incandescent bulbs are good for yellow lensed marker lights, but are bad for clear lensed marker lights. br>br>Rear and side marker red LED upgrades are acceptable. The license plate lights are white with yellow lenses. For rooftop clearance lights, stick to incandescent natural amber bulbs.
