Questions & Answers

Please forgive me if this is a silly question, but what size plug socket does this require? Also, what happened to a 225 efi from 1997? thanks?

13/16" or 15/16" diameter

What is a champion ql77cc's gap setting?

It is determined by the engine in which they are installed.

For a 225 mercury efi, what should a champion spark plug gap be?

A Mercury 225 EFI is the engine I'm using. 35 SPECIFICATIONS FROM THE FACTORY

I didn't get the marine version of the plugs, but I've bought these before and had no problems
3/5

I have a Mercury 250 efi and I use them. Because it's an older model, I have to replace the plugs every 8 to 10 years. br>br>Well, the last time I bought this set, I DID NOT receive the marine grade plugs, but rather the regular ones. br>br>Well, the last time I bought this set, I DID NOT receive the marine grade plugs, but rather the regular ones. br>br>Well, the last time I bought this set, I DID NOT receive the marine grade plugs, but I needed them, so I used them anyway, and two of them died after about 8 hours of use; however, it was my fault for not returning them. I placed another order, and if they are not marine grade, I will return them. br>br>I'm writing for anyone else who might get regular plugs instead of the marine ones: RETURN THEM, they're not the same.

5 of the 6 Champion QL77CC plugs I ordered had zero gap, meaning the ground electrode was smashed into the center electrode
3/5

This led me down a $200 rabbit hole of replacing ignition coils in an attempt to resolve the outboard motor's apparent rumbling. I'm hoping the motor did not sustain any internal damage.

Plugs that were sent were incorrect
3/5

The number on the box was correct, but the number on the plug was incorrect: the correct plug is QL77CC, but the box's plug says QL77JC4.
