It was too short for my 2017 KTM enduro R stock pipe, approximately 2 inches short. And to be honest the wolf man bags itself didn't require it, but the rider I rode with used it on his smaller after market exhaust on his 525 and it fit perfectly. As soon as I upgrade my exhaust can to a smaller after market can, I will lose the factory heat shield and need this one instead.

This is a nice piece of gear, as is all Wolfman gear. The bag can be easily put on and it provides great clearance off the pipe. I will surely keep my bag off the pipe and that is what the bag is there That's what I like best about mine.
On my 2002 BMW 1150GS Adventure I currently use this system. One of the sets of Nelson-designed mugs I have is I prefer Rigg bags, but I've heard from other owners that the high pipe routing of the bmw generally prevents the installation of friendly soft bags. There were no modifications necessary to get this to fit onto the stock pipe. It was installed after it was taken out of the bag. This is a simple and straightforward process. After riding for about an hour at high speeds with the soft bags atop the new heat shield, I had my first meltdown. The touch of this product does not even register as hot. I am in love with.
I bought 2 of these for my 2017 Yamaha wr250r and put wolfman enduro dry bags on the back, and I got good protection for my bags for a trip of over 1200 miles. This is one of the best products on the market.
Is effective at what it is supposed to be.
I am proud to be holding this The van.
