What is the purpose of the bearings moving? While I can spin my fingers freely on other bearings, I can't do that with these. ?

These are not bearings themselves, they are bronze bushings. In order to get the bushings to fit correctly, I used a lathe to chuck my driveshaft in and sand it down.

Possibly not a good I think it looks just like the OEM parts on my Polaris Virage 2002

The bushing I have on my driveshaft fits only one way. The bushing was too big in the old driveshaft, so I used a mallet to make it fit with an old driveshaft. I was unhappy I had wasted $50 since the return period was out. We took some of the Teflon coating off the bushing and it is now in perfect working order. No leaks found on the driveshaft, though I am not sure how it will look after a season.

Polaris Genesis 2001 was not compatible with this product

There is too much information here. Polaris Genesis 2001 was not compatible with this product. The original OEM part this is supposed to replace is twice as long as this one.
