When I was looking at my windshield brackets a month ago, I noticed the bolts were beginning to rust. I will have to replace them next year and by then the bolts will be so rusted they will fall off. However, they fit in another way.
In order to recoat my Jeep, I used spray paint. Since the bolts come from the factory painted, you should be aware of that. As a result, I had to change them. I'm glad they fit right in with no problems and I like having the black color offset to match the Jeep instead of painting them. The set I bought for my son's Jeep turned out to be so good that I bought another one. A flat bolt will have to be used on the lock bolt on the windshield if you want to do the entire windshield and doors. The bolt you need for the lock bolt on the windshield is available.

Taking care of the windshield hinge and lower door hinge attachments to the body was really easy. There was, however, no room for them in the full-size. A door is attached to a hinge by a screw. M8 X 1 screws are used for this project. I have a 2003 Jeep Wrangler with 25 miles on it. Their dimensions are almost identical to those of these 5/16" standard ones. The T40 torx drivers are the same, but they are I have no idea why Chrysler decided to mix standard and metric measurements together, but I'm sure someone found it to make sense.
I like the pack size because you often think that "well, I only need one or two" but you find that there's four or five more than you initially thought. With the pack size and price of this kit you don't need to buy more. The Torx bolts should be of good quality.
The screws I used in my 73 Jeep CJ5 windshield frame replacement came from these retailers. Unlike the older ones, which were worn and rusted, these ones worked perfectly. There's no doubt that these are very good. It is a very happy day for me. It is a good product. Thank you.
For my YJ, I had to cut or drill out the old bolts before replacing the windshield frame. Both of these were exact matches. The torx bit and thread pattern are the same.
