Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use these on painted wood?

They should be able to if the wood is smooth.

What is the width of the letters? I understand they aren't all the same size, so how about the letter S or the number three? It must be able to accommodate a stand-up jet ski. ?

I don't have access to them right now, but they are legal according to coast guard regulations, which state that they must be 3 inches in height. I strongly advise you to use the hardline sticker. You can align them for a long time by sliding them around. Without it, I'm not sure I would have been able to succeed. However, the answer is yes to your width question. The number one is significantly smaller than the letter M. This, I believe, applies to all registration products.

I'm trying to figure out if the silver/black is more silver or grey. Thank you very much! ?

The lettering was a perfect match for the factory lettering on my 2006 Alumacraft Navigator.

For a 2017 Kawasaki standup, what color should I go with?

Is it really that important?

These are one of the best bang-for-your-buck options for a high-quality product
5/5

for- the- I've spent a lot of money on Amazon. They were perfect for my 11 ft. Numbers assigned to inflatable rafts. They are simple to apply with a little care and planning, stick well, are durable, and last a long time. It's the second set I've purchased since I moved from one state to another and had to get rid of the previous ones, which I'd had for about four years. They came off fairly easily, so they aren't permanent, but they do stick well. They also wrinkle a little when I fold the boat, but this doesn't seem to bother them, and they flatten out again when I pump it up. They appear to be in good condition. This is an excellent product.

They flutter in the wind like a feather
3/5

These were purchased for a Waverunner that was more recent in model. I didn't want the standard square block letters with a straight line. In my opinion, these are of lower quality and cost ten dollars more than the Attwood kits sold at Walmart. I suppose fancier equates to more costly and less costly. These letters have a very thin thickness to them. When applying them, make sure the wind isn't blowing. They flutter in the wind like a feather. When I stamped them out, some of them nearly pierced the backing. It became more difficult to peel off. For over 20 years, I've been using those old vinyl registration numbers on boats. These aren't going to last long, I'm sure. The company that manufactures these is making a fortune by using thin material to save money. They were almost out of the hard plastic package they came in, which was almost out of the envelope they were mailed in. It's a miracle they weren't killed. It's cheap, but you've got to have it if you want to be cool! I'm curious how the water patrol feels about these cool, low-cost registration numbers, as the other guy on here mentioned. Perhaps he will not use his calipers!.

Although it isn't the worst option, it isn't the best
3/5

This isn't the best option, but it's certainly better than the alternatives. When everything is in place, it looks fantastic. Unfortunately, these numbers and letters will not adhere to anything other than a perfectly clean and smooth surface. They won't last long if they're exposed to the elements on a regular basis. My 19-foot fiberglass boat's are still in place and look great after two years. The letters on my smaller plastic pond boat, as well as the numbers I put on my mail box, are peeling away. So if your boat is fiberglass and you store it away from the elements when not in use, they'll last a long time. They don't seem to work well on plastic or metal, and they don't seem to be able to withstand prolonged sun and rain exposure.

It adheres well to the metal skin of the pontoon boat
5/5

Some reviewers had trouble getting it to stick to metal, but I didn't have that problem. I started by rubbing the affected area with denatured alcohol; the only issue I had was getting it to look right. It's difficult because of the curved sides, but that's not the fault of the stickers; just take your time and it'll look great.

There is an excess of one and a deficiency of the other
4/5

This product has a great appearance and is relatively simple to apply (though peeling the numbers off can be a challenge at first). My only reservation is that the effectiveness of the system is contingent on the number of times a particular number appears on your boat identification. I had three 6's in my case. That meant I'd need a total of six (since the number must appear on both hulls). Only four are included in the kit. Yes, it explicitly states that, but I didn't receive my boat ID from the government until after I had ordered the decals, so it was a rude awakening; fortunately, an upside down 9 looks exactly like a 6. So I was fine, but if you have three 8's or something along those lines, you'll need two kits.

Those are some seriously slick figures! My parents recently purchased two new jet skis, and the only numbers available at the local hardware store were those obnoxious black and white numbers
5/5

I thought it would be fun to surprise them with these, which I had just applied to the jet skis. I bought these because they were less expensive than the others, and I thought the 'chrome' would complement the jet skis' dark blue and silver colors. These are 3 inches in diameter, which is the size required for boats and watercraft, and they were extremely simple to install. I didn't experience any tearing, and no peeling has occurred. I'll make sure to update this review if anything changes.

I needed new boat numbers, and these fit the bill perfectly
4/5

I liked how they looked and how cheap they were; I wouldn't say they're particularly durable because they're made of thin plastic, but they get the job done. The item accomplishes its goal and does not appear to be defective.
