The distance between the step's face and the bottom of the door opening is 8 inches. These, however, I do not recommend. Almost immediately rusted- They were replaced because the originals were damaged, and the powder coating on the inside of the box was flaking off. Other companies were contacted and different ones were ordered to be installed in the spring.
I was wearing a 2018 JK at the time.
I'm 270 pounds and they're still holding me!

To install these steps on a Rubicon Unlimited, you will need to remove the factory rails. I wish I had known that before making a purchase. Now I just need to find a trim piece to hide the old bolt-on holes. It appears that the project is incomplete. I've also contacted the seller to inquire as to why the step treads do not appear to be in the proper location. You enter by stepping on the pipe rather than the "Since 19" step treads. " I'm waiting for a response from the seller, and I'm hoping they'll be able to assist me in resolving this issue. " I'm hoping it's an issue with the installation. Also, perhaps they'll sell a trim piece to hide the factory rails' holes. There was also damage from the shipping. The weight of the heavy-duty rails, on the other hand, must be an issue for the one-man delivery crew. It's too much for a single person to deal with. More information will be provided as soon as the seller responds.
br> However, if you can't figure them out, you probably shouldn't be behind the wheel. br>Scratches and Dents - Yes, from shipping, and the packaging could be more strategicbr>br>PROS: These are both beautiful and practical. My wife is short, and the wide drop step makes it much easier for her to enter and exit without sacrificing clearance. The fuel tank is at a lower level than these stairwells. br>It's a perfect fit. Both sides were on and secure in less than ten minutes. It was that quick; there was no squabbling over who got them on first. br>Customer service, customer service! There was some damage, as previously stated. I followed the procedure and received a quick response from the seller with several options for resolving the problem. br>Many thanks for your excellent customer service and excellent product!!.
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE, AND THE QUALITY IS AWFUL. These steps were given to me as a birthday present in May. Corona was unable to install them until September due to the fact that they were not available at the time. I finally got them on, and after a week, they were rusted! Hooke refused to honor the warranty when I contacted them. THESE ARE NOT COATED IN POWDER! The company demanded that I purchase spray paint in order to repair my $300 steps. This is a terrible company, and I will never do business with them again.
WELDS THAT ARE NOT COMPLETE. We've been on it for a month and it's starting to rust. You can see where welds on the tubing weren't completed after a close inspection. It will be necessary to clean the rust and attempt to prime and patch it. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm pretty sure the tubing's insides have been tampered with, and it'll most likely RUST again. br>It's a shame because they looked great when they were first installed. They're still good, but not with the rust on them.
In less than a year, they rust! I received a damaged product, and instead of replacing it, they gave me a credit, so I gave the money to my mechanic, who fixed it (which they did). However, I just noticed rust on two of the four corners of both steps today. Poor powder coating is a common occurrence (as shown in the photo). Do not purchase these if you require a long-lasting item.
It's exactly what we wanted, and it's now much easier to get into and out of the Jeep! It is both durable and attractive.
The metal had been properly prepared for the applied "powder coating," but it rusted almost immediately after being installed at the welds. Replacements were sent out, but they arrived damaged. While in the box, the powder coating began to flake off.
