For that application, this would be an excellent choice. The Mobil 1 synthetic grease is a good option if you want something with slightly better water washout characteristics.

Is this a one-of-a-kind (grey)xhp 222? or the xhp 222 (blue) as advertised?

I've never used a grease like this before

I used to work in the oil industry as a mechanic. For years, I used Mobil 1 grease, but about a year ago, I switched to this grease. It appears to stay in solution for a longer period of time and does not separate or run out.

The box has a leak

I purchased a full case, and the box is saturated with oozing grease after only 6 months. It was necessary to relocate in order to store upright and clean up the mess. In my battery-operated grease gun, it also doesn't work very well. To keep pumping, I have to remove air bubbles from each tube at least four times.

I didn't have to go to town to get it because it was good grease at a reasonable price, shipped quickly, and arrived in good condition.

I use this grease on all of my equipment and find it to be excellent

It's also what I use on my snowmobiles and personal watercraft. Water resistance and retention are both excellent. We've recently begun using it on some of our dredges that have submerged components and operate in a harsh environment. So far, the outcomes have been positive.
