Questions & Answers

Do Honda manual transmissions have a chance of being damaged?

The best way to determine what kind of transmission fluid your Honda has is to check your owner's manual. Some Honda manuals use a liquid that is very light, similar to SAE

How is it possible that there are two ?

In this order, there were two bottles

Do you think this will work with my Mazdaspeed 3 2011?

The manual gearbox is for manual transmissions. In a Jeep manual, it works just fine.

I was able to fix my 2nd gear grind in a Civic Si with your help
5/5

A look back at 2006-07 Civic Si's have a problem when they're in second or third gear for me, it was always happening at high RPMs. Thus, I replaced my transmission fluid, CMC and slave cylinders with Hybrid Racing parts, and my shifter bushings with Acuity bushings. There have already been times when I've used Honda OEM transmission fluid and it still grinds. Therefore, this fluid is what I got instead just to try out and I discovered that it was somewhat helpful. correctly, this fluid has a different operating temperature than the Honda OEM fluid and reacts differently to different synchros at high RPMs.

While this isn't a definite fix to gear grinds, I would highly recommend the Hybrid Racing CMC and Slave Cylinder kit because it makes installation much easier and it improves the responsiveness of the transmission. Honordata will help with rev hang so you have more room for gear banging, and Acuity and Hybrid Racing shifter cables and bushings will give you better The above and a possible transmission rebuild/repair will surely fix the transmission problems and you won't have to worry about changing gears all day long. It has only been a few days since I started using this fluid and the hybrid racing kit, and the grinding has practically disappeared. Having damaged my 2nd synchro, I've repeatedly grinded it, it still went into gear and I chirped 2nd, but that's because it keeps going into gear when I grind it, which is why I keep chirping it every time I powershift. As well as reducing drivetrain shock (aka how you gears grind about half the time), motor mounts will also help. Nevertheless, this fluid is only a temporary solution, and I am not sure how it will behave in certain ambient and operating temperatures and how it will react, but it should be perfectly safe and would never harm the user. As a result, it improves shifting feel as well as acting as a band-aid to resolve.

It's shift time again in my mini with high mileage
5/5

The manual transmission fluid in my 175k mile mini cooper R52 has been replaced. Changing the oil is as easy as changing the oil in the car. Rather than using the redline MTL, I chose to use the redline MTL+. After reading many articles that said OEM fluid would be compatible, I purchased the OEM fluid. In my opinion, it was a good bet at half the cost. This fluid did not appear to have been changed before, and it came out quite dark with a metallic sheen, like there were probably particles of metal When you bump into neutral, the car shifts much better with the new fluid, and actually seems to "center" more immediately. This is a satisfactory outcome for me. As time goes on, we will be able to tell if the transmission lasts a long time. When it comes to fluids, don't be swayed by the "lifetime" fluid talking point in the service manual. To ensure the life of your transmission, coolant, or transmission axle, change its fluids on a regular basis.

I am very happy with this oil and recommend it to others
5/5

I changed over from whatever oil was in there to the MTL product and it really does seem to shift more smoothly and efficiently A quieter environment. There is a little doubt that my trans was lubed with As you can see from my Cooper, it is a Grade 5 It is engineered with Brass sleeves which is why the transmission is number 4. I really like this product and its price is very reasonable. I have no regrets using this, and its history proves it to be accurate. It's definitely worth a shot!.

During the last few years, I have had trouble with my manual transmission of a 2000 Jeep Wrangler, so I bought a 2 quart pack
5/5

I became stuck shifting especially after a long drive on the highway. It was difficult to move from one gear to another. has even been fitted with a new clutch that is in perfect working order. In my case, 2 quarts was exactly the amount I needed to drain and refill the transmission. It has definitely made the shifting smoother. The drain and fill bolts on mine had a 17mm hex drive.

Gear shifts are a thing of the past! I was very pleased with the product
5/5

It totally restored the life of my transmission! It makes gear shifts very, very smooth. There are 74k miles on this car, which is very much in need. Nevertheless, I have a very unrelated issue, which does not relate to the product. According to my package, it appeared that it was opened on or just before my front door. Keeping a record of the package was important for future reference if it turns out to be After reviewing my security cameras, I only saw that the delivery had been made and that was all that came to my door before seeing.

I have an E46 ZF5 that is It had been previously owned, but I had some cheap af in the zf5 transmission and I sometimes had difficulty shifting
5/5

The itch is unbearable and really itchy. This 75-pound bag was drained and added to the stuff that was in there She shifts like butter with her 80w redline mtl. Easily the best 35 dollars I've spent on a My understanding is that the redline atf works well in the zf5, but so far I'm pleased with the 75-mm When it is warming up, it may be a little notchy for the first five minutes. After that it becomes smooth. Driving hard (drift car) is part of my daily routine.

As soon as it was added, shifting became smoother
5/5

Putting the car into reverse and changing gears have become increasingly difficult in my son's 2003 Volkswagen Golf. Transmission was probably faulty, according to what was told to us.
With the Redline lube, things started shifting as good as new from the get-go. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has shifting issues with an older car. It was a bit of a gamble, but I am a believer in this product now.

The transmission was installed in my 2010 BMW E93 with a 6 speed manual transmission
5/5

I received conflicting data regarding the use of atf vs gear oil Choosing this option was the best choice for me. A bottle and a half was perfect. Only a few ounces were The shift is smooth and no issues have been reported since I made the change two weeks ago.

Update 2 years later - October 2020 with only 6 k miles added - no issues, transmission shifts smoothly and runs smoothly.
