A look back at 2006-07 Civic Si's have a problem when they're in second or third gear for me, it was always happening at high RPMs. Thus, I replaced my transmission fluid, CMC and slave cylinders with Hybrid Racing parts, and my shifter bushings with Acuity bushings. There have already been times when I've used Honda OEM transmission fluid and it still grinds. Therefore, this fluid is what I got instead just to try out and I discovered that it was somewhat helpful. correctly, this fluid has a different operating temperature than the Honda OEM fluid and reacts differently to different synchros at high RPMs.
While this isn't a definite fix to gear grinds, I would highly recommend the Hybrid Racing CMC and Slave Cylinder kit because it makes installation much easier and it improves the responsiveness of the transmission.
