Questions & Answers

Is it possible to clean the light bulb socket in a chandelier with this?

You don't use any chemicals to clean them. Simply use a small brass brush to apply the paint.

Is it possible to connect this to a turntable?

What kind of connection(s) do you have? Yes, if you're looking at connectors that have some corrosion or debris on them. I recently used this to clean some contacts for HIDS in my car that had become clogged, and it worked perfectly!

Has anyone tried cleaning pcbs like computer motherboards or car pcm/ecm modules with this stuff?

Without a doubt. I've been using this cleaner to clean PCBs and motherboards for years, and it works great. Even though it evaporates quickly, I always use canned air to blow it off and ensure that it is completely dry before reconnecting the power.

It works, but it's not perfect
3/5

I've been using another brand of electronic contact cleaner for years, but I've recently had difficulty finding it in stock through my usual sources. So I did some research and discovered that CRC QD Electronic Contact Cleaner was the most similar product on the market to what I had been using. I started using the first can of CRC after my supply of original cleaner ran out. It cleans just as well as my old cleaner did. There are a few distinctions, though: First, my original cleaner has a spray head that can be adjusted for the amount of cleaner dispensed (high, medium, and low spray head positions by turning the can on). When it comes to determining how much cleaner is sprayed each time the head is pressed down, this is extremely helpful. I don't always need a lot of cleaner, especially in tight spaces like inside electronics and electrical components. Furthermore, this product (both brands) is costly, and spraying far more than is required is wasteful. Second, and perhaps more importantly, I've never had any material damage or discoloration when using my old electronic cleaner, so I assumed the CRC QD would be just as gentle on materials. Yes, I said mistake because when I first used the CRC QD, I didn't take the necessary precautions to avoid overheating. Spray and/or splatter is a term used to describe what happens when you spray or splatter I managed to splatter the keyboard of my Lenovo laptop (I wasn't attempting to clean the laptop; it was on my workbench as a reference for my "cleaning" project). Because I didn't notice it right away, I didn't take it out. Besides, I wouldn't have worried about wiping it down because I assumed it would be safe on various surfaces like my previous cleaner. As I previously stated, it was my error! The keyboard on my Lenovo ThinkPad now has what appear to be permanent pale light grey freckles across one corner. There was no visible damage; only discoloration appears to have occurred. While the QD does an excellent job of cleaning electrical contacts, I believe it's worth noting that on the back of the cleaner's can, at the top, is CRC's product description, which concludes with: "Most plastics and paper tapes are unaffected. "Unfortunately, the plastic in my Lenovo (one of the world's most popular brands) was not resistant to CRC's electronic cleaner formulation. I'm not accusing CRC of any wrongdoing; instead, I'm blaming myself. It is entirely my responsibility for not being more cautious. However, as soon as I can find a new supplier, I plan to resume purchasing my original brand of spray contact cleaner. CRC QD is effective, but you should exercise caution if any of the surfaces you use it on or around are important to you. I'd love to tell you about my favorite cleaner, but I'm afraid that if I did, my review wouldn't be published, so I'm going to leave this as a cautious recommendation for conditional use.

CRC 5103 Electronic Cleaner (Quick Dry)
5/5

Professional Outcomes in a Bottle! CRC Electronic Cleaner has been on the market for more than four decades. years. I've been using it for a long time. It is the best product on the market and is reasonably priced. Caution: Before you use anything, make sure it's unplugged. Batteries should also be removed from any portable electronic devices. In and around my house, there are a lot of electronic components. Stereos in automobiles and other similar items are also available. CRC 5301 is an excellent cleaner for any electronic contacts and moving surfaces that may collect dust over time; I always blow off dust with compressed air [in a can]. Then, using the CRC, clean the contact surfaces thoroughly. I spray these controls from the front faceplate of my Home Theater Equipment after removing all of the knobs [remember to UNPLUG devices first]. then take the 4-inch screw out. There are 6 screws on the outside of the cabinet. Remove the cover. and movable knobs sprat from a variety of perspectives Replace cabinet screws as soon as the CRC has dried. Component should be repositioned in its proper location. AT LEAST 15 MINUTES, WAIT minutes . After that, switch it on. VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION: [Small bursts] when spraying items. Ensure that the KNOBS / Switches are TWISTED or MOVED as far as possible up and down. Positions on the left and right. and 100% turn knobs back and forth as many times as many times as many times as many times a This will clean the contact surfaces in the same way that a Pro Technician would.

I was able to restore my iPhone
5/5

I bought this cleaner because my iPhone, which I usually keep in my pocket, was having charging issues. I read the reviews and was able to restore charging capability to my phone using this spray and a pipe cleaner. It is unquestionably less expensive than purchasing a brand new phone. I'm sure this isn't the product's intended purpose, but it worked well for me.

It did exactly what it said it would do to clean out the auto fuse box! I used this to clean out the fuse box in the engine compartment of my car
5/5

I had a lot of corrosion in there after a few winters in the snow and salt, plus a bad fuse box lid design, and it was starting to affect my electrical systems (headlights wouldn't work, for example). After some research, it appeared that this cleaner was the best option. So I removed everything, including the fuse box, from the product. This stuff made a huge difference after a few quick sprays and some light scrubbing. It appeared to dry quickly, but I sprayed it with compressed air to hasten the process. Put everything back together and replaced the blown fuses, and everything is working perfectly now!.

I've been using it for a long time
5/5

Cleans intermittent contacts, leaves no residue, degreases, and removes carbon brush dust from motors. This is something I've been using for a long time. It works great, leaves no residue, and doesn't melt any of the plastics I've tried it on. Electric motors will be cleaned of carbon dust, and scratchy volume control pots will be cleaned. Spray intermittent contacts, burnish, re-spray, and you're done. br>br>It's great for sprinkling the bottoms of phone contacts. This can easily wash out all the dead skin, lint, and other debris that collects in the bottom of a phone while causing no harm to the phone. Just make sure you don't go overboard and flood the phone, which will cause the screen to become wet.

Easy to apply, quick to dry, and effective
5/5

The volume knob on my car radio was acting erratically, so I bought this electronics cleaner to fix it. I was going to use contact cleaner after doing some research, but it seemed more expensive, and this electronics cleaner seemed to do the same exact thing for my needs. It worked out, thankfully. br>br>After turning off the car, I removed the knob and sprayed behind and around the chip/sensor and the knob post with the included straw. I let it work and dry for a few seconds before clearing it with compressed air if there was any debris. I did it three times and then waited a few minutes for everything to dry. I didn't want to risk it, even though it only takes a few seconds to dry. I reinstalled the knob, restarted the car, and everything was back to normal. br>br>Because this can is so large, I'll probably use it for cleaning other delicate electronic components in the future if it stores well.
