Using these bulbs for the rear license plate lights on a 2017 VW GTI was a great experience. As I was tired of the yellowish lighting on the inside, I wanted the new exterior LED lights to fit in the existing sockets. Although they are a bit smaller than the original halogen bulbs, this does not affect the lighting on the inside at all. This blue coating probably reduces the light output a little, but I don't know for sure if that's the cause. Since these are for license plates, I've opted to sacrifice performance for aesthetics for this project.

The vast majority of these turned pink within a few hours. Turned clear a short time later. Within a few hours, more than half of the bulbs had burned out (installed 11 in total, 7 of them had burned out, one of them was pink, and the other three appeared to have clear bulbs). Having a Peterbilt semi give me a headache. LEDs have been working great for us and we went with red ones. During the night, the light is much more comfortable for the eyes.

This is not a good quality product. Dull, yellow color. A thin blue coating can be seen in some places. It is the fit, however, that is the biggest problem. The bottom of the top fits into the socket rather loosely, so will not be using these. The bottom of these is short, too, so will The sockets I was using for my AutoMeter gauges were brand new at the time.

Replacement bulbs for the Mercedes W5W are available here. I did not receive any error messages and the intensity was set correctly. LEDs show error messages when I try to use them. It costs ten times as much here per bulb as it does at a dealer. The day started off well and the work went as planned.

There is definitely no dimness to for them, from what other people have said about it, it sounds like there might be a ground issue or short.
