I don't see why it wouldn't work on more recent vehicles. Because I drive a 2019 SUV, I bought this emergency window breaker for it.
It does not, in fact. It does, however, come with a plastic piece that can be screwed into (hear me out) your door or under the dash? To serve as a "base" for the tool to snap onto (I'm still figuring it out). Consider the plastic piece that comes with a new razor in the package; it's similar to this, and the tool simply snaps into place. To avoid damaging your vehicle, simply replace the screws with 3m tape. However, for ease of access, I prefer to keep mine in my consol next to me. If it's in the visor, it might be difficult for your passenger to grab if you're knocked unconscious and their seat belt is locked up. It's in the console, at the very least, between the driver and the passenger, and it's easy to grab when panic sets in.

Hello there, please keep this out of the reach of children. Small hands can fall into the blade position hole, which is dangerous for children. The head of the hammer is also razor-sharp.

I bought this for my son, his girlfriend, and my grandson as a stocking stuffer. Hopefully, they will not need this tool, but it is comforting to know that if they are in an accident, they will be able to cut their seat belt and/or break a window with it. When I first opened these, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they are actually quite heavy. I obviously haven't tried them on a perfectly good window for no reason, but it's heavy and has a sharp point, so I believe it could shatter a window successfully. A seatbelt cutter is also included. This is kept under my seat, where it is easily accessible.
Although the product appears to be well-made and durable, mounting hangers were not included.
Thankfully, I've never needed to use these, but they're sturdy, visible, and of excellent quality. I have one in each of my rides, and I bought these as Christmas presents. Ascertain that whoever is driving the vehicle is aware of its location and how to operate it.
