Questions & Answers

Is a dog in the car bothered by the noise?

I've taken dogs on car rides before. They showed no signs of discomfort or agitation as a result of using the whistles. Because we can't hear the whistle, we have to take the manufacturers' word for it that these work. Having said that, I've never hit a deer while wearing the whistles.

Is it just adhesive strips that are used to mount these?

It's nothing more than a base adhesive strip. The top part of the table can be removed and replaced with ease. Only when I'm going through a car wash do I remove mine.

What makes one say closed while the other says open?

I believe one is closed while the other is open due to the fact that one is closed and the other is open.

Is it possible to put these on a bike?

The bottom of the bell is covered in stickers. You can mount them on your motorcycle as long as there is a flat surface available. They do not, however, appear to work in my opinion. The day after I installed them on my car, a deer jumped in front of my car while I was driving. I was relieved that I had missed the deer.

It all comes down to the flow of air
5/5

It all comes down to the flow of air. There should be as much space as possible behind the whistles. They may not work well if you place them on top of your bumper, close to the headlights. I slid them under the bumper, where there is plenty of space behind them and no issues with the car wash. We live near a national forest, and suicide deer are a common occurrence. We've had these on our cars for about six months and they're still going strong.

Deer Warning Whistle of the Highest Quality I was sceptical about them working because of the price
5/5

I'm relocating to a rural area where I'll be encountering a lot of deer. I drove back to my other home mostly at dusk on a two-lane highway for 17 miles, and I was nervous because deer in the road were difficult to see until you were right on top of them. Deer can appear anywhere because the area is heavily wooded. Well, I'm a firm believer in their efficacy! Three nights in a row, deer on the verge of crossing the road came to a halt and then bolted in the opposite direction. To work, you must be traveling at least 35 miles per hour, according to my understanding. I drive 40 MPH at dusk so that I can stop in time. Because I read that other people's products were falling off, I had my husband mount mine with nylon zip ties. I'M OVERJOYED!.

THESE ARE EFFECTIVE! BUYING THREE PACKS IS A GOOD IDEA
5/5

I Covered My Bumper in Six Deer Whistles - In the past 17 years, I haven't hit a single animal. I bought six of the deer whistles (ultrasonic). I placed them all on the underside of my front fender, facing forward, as instructed. Most people would call this "overkill," but I couldn't stop myself from adding more because I didn't think two was enough. My suspicion turned out to be correct. I haven't hit a single animal in over 17 years because I have five or six of these deer whistles installed (and I drive slowly). Not a single creature. I only paid $21 for it. I just keep replacing them if one or two fall off while getting the car washed, or whatever. . . br>Two deer whistles will not keep you from hitting animals, but six will! I swear to God that I will- This is effective. I now tell everyone I know about it, and I believe they should be standard equipment in every vehicle. It has the potential to save many lives. I strongly advise you to purchase and use all three packs (each of which contains two items).

They're fine; deer warning whistles all function in the same way, so it's difficult to give any of them a rating lower than a 3
3/5

They're simple to put together and do the job. When you go through a car wash, you can leave the base on the car and only remove the whistle. br>br>To activate the whistling, you must travel at a speed of around 30 mph. It's not as loud as a dog whistle, but if there are a lot of cars on the road, you'll still be fighting road noise with it. br>br>Note that the two whistles are different because they're meant to guide deer to the right side of the road (or the opposite if you live on the left side of the road). If they're installed incorrectly, the deer will be led to the left side of the road, where they may have to fight oncoming traffic. So there you have it. No, this does not ensure that a deer will not collide with your vehicle. First, if a deer is on the verge of crossing the road (i. e. The deer will not be affected by both whistles if they are running orthogonally to your direction. Yes, that is the proper use case scenario if the deer is directly in front of you on the road. However, not all deer will automatically move out of the way. They might be startled by your high-speed approach or your blinding headlights. Even if you see a deer on the road, you must drive cautiously and slowly. But, since these are so inexpensive and could only help, I don't see why everyone shouldn't have one if they live in an area where there are a lot of deer.

Is there anything else I can say? A picture can convey a lot of information in a short amount of time
3/5

In southern Virginia, my wife was driving around 55 mph when a smallish deer darted out in front of her car. The Deer Warnings I installed according to the instructions had no effect, and one of them was smashed in with the rest of the front panel. I reasoned that it was a reasonable investment for a product with mixed efficacy reviews. Was it possible that I was mistaken?.

This is ineffective! On Sunday, November 20, 2016, I installed these deer horns on my Lexus

On my way home from work on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, I hit a deer. I also drove past a herd of deer on the side of the road, who were unfazed by my presence.

Now is the time to get this
5/5

I am in love with these and believe that everyone needs them! One morning around 4 a. m. , we were driving in the country and the deer were out; we actually saw the deer look up and flee in the opposite direction; we have never had a deer run in front of our cars in the past two years since these babies were installed; I am so impressed that I bought three sets, one for my husband and one for my mother-in-law's SUV!.

I can tell it's effective! To begin, I work four nights a week on the road for five hours
5/5

Each night, sleep for six hours. I live in a small town and spend a lot of time driving around the countryside. After being hit by a deer last year and seeing so many this year, I decided to buy these for our main vehicle in October. In less than 7 days after installing these, I witnessed five different deer stare me down and then run away from my car! That's far too coincidental for me to believe they don't work. I will never own a vehicle that does not have these installed. When the time comes, my children will receive them for their vehicles as well. br>br>First and foremost, this is NOT a comprehensive list. While driving, you should continue to be cautious and alert. However, in the back of my mind, these whistles provide some relief. According to what I've read online, they won't work unless the airflow is greater than 30 mph. They need to be properly installed. br>br> I used alcohol to clean the area where I planned to put them. They only stick the first time and won't come off if you put them somewhere you don't want them to be. Put them as close to the front of your car as you can (I have a newer Ford Fusion, so I had to put mine inside the front). Ensure that they are placed on each side as directed on the package. When you blow into one of them, the closed one will whistle, while the open one will not. br>br>Even with my windows down, I can't hear these. This was an excellent purchase, and I am confident that I will make many more in the future.
