Is this going to work with my Dolphin temperature? gauge?

Dolphin isn't for me, but it's perfect for my Dakota digital camera.

Is it necessary to mount this somewhere other than the factory sender? If I want to keep the factory one connected, I'll have to buy a new one. ?

Yes, it is capable of reading pressure in any location. If your old sender is on top of the engine, you can put the new one down near the oil filter, or vice versa.

This kit has proven to be far more useful than I had anticipated. I couldn't install my temp sender where I wanted it, and the new location required a different thread size, but the kit included everything I needed. Everything is in excellent working order, and the sender is faultless.
