Questions & Answers
It's an 18-year-old male. Protruding from the back is a 27 thread (equivalent to 1/8" npt) fitting. Tighten with just an open end wrench.
1/8" NPT is the thread gauge size. It is highly recommended that you use Teflon tape. Make sure the threads are wrapped in the correct direction at least three times. To avoid Teflon tape contamination of your gauge, do not wrap the first set of threads. When installing this gauge, make sure you use the correct wrench. If you tighten the gauge by turning the face, the accuracy will be compromised.
Selected User Reviews For VDO 153002 Pressure Gauge
This was purchased with the intention of under-pricing it. For triple Weber carbs with fuel pressure sensitivities, a hood monitor regulator is required. I chose this gauge because I don't like company logos on my Mercedes, and the VDO logo on this one is very subtle - It's almost imperceptible. The narrow bezel and clean/simple face gradations are also appealing. I've lost faith in the current Mr. Gasket gauge's accuracy. After more experience with the functionality of the VDO gauge, I'll update this.
Taiwanese box states that it was made in Taiwan. So I'm hoping this will outlast the chinese crap that's been pushed down our throats. br>Because the gauge does not indicate where it was made, the box could have been made there as well. br>However, it appears to work and is stable. I purchased it due to my concerns about fuel pressure. br>As expected, this revealed that I fell short of the requirements. When the new pump is installed, I'll connect this to it. br>If more information is required, I can provide it. br>Warning: This information is for informational purposes only. I've never used a fuel pressure gauge before, so I'm not sure if this is normal, but the gauge jumps all over the place from the pump's rated output to zero. It's possible that this is due to the nature of mechanical pumps. Is it possible that another pump is malfunctioning? The gauge, however, is functional. I'm sure there will be some needle bouncing because it's not liquid filled. This makes me happy.
I replaced an old oil-filled gauge with a needle that bounced too much to give a reliable reading. It's a lot more consistent this way. I've heard that when the oil filler gets hot under the hood, it doesn't read well, but I can't vouch for that.
It works perfectly, with no oscillation and a very consistent and accurate result. Mine is attached to the carburetor and is unaffected by engine vibrations.
Apart from that, everything was perfect! When the regulator is installed, I'll post an update.
Pay attention to the directions. It's a nice little fuel pressure gauge that's simple to read. On my Duramax LML, I'm using this gauge as a backup for my Fass 95gph lift pump. br>It perfectly matches the pressure on my in-cab Max Tow gauge.
This blood pressure monitor is fantastic at keeping my blood pressure in check.
I'm very happy with this gauge; it works flawlessly with my pressure regulator to get it dialed in at the proper pressure setting. I can't think of any other price indicator that works as well as this one. Thank you so much for your quick and courteous service; it was greatly appreciated.
