Is this compatible with a Honda Rebel 500AB? (cmx500) Many thanks! ?

CMX500 (2017-) CMX500 (2017-) CMX500 ( For Honda Rebels from 2017 to 2019, the answer is a resounding YES, as the 2020 model already has one built in (at long last). This is by far the simplest and most effective modification I've made to the bike
5/5

This is by far the simplest and most effective modification I've made to the bike. My motorcycle is a 2018 Honda Rebel 500. With the exception of figuring out how to conceal the wiring, the installation was a breeze. It was easier to program than I had anticipated. It had mastered each gear before I had even left our gated community. It's a little bright, and it'd probably be annoying at night, but I don't ride at night, so it's not an issue for me. br>br>I know I looked everywhere for instructions before buying it when I first looked it up. There were none to be found. So. I'm going to have to leave some of my belongings behind. The Honda Rebels from 2017 and 2018 should be compatible with this product. They're both the same bike, just with different paint jobs. The data port, which is a red plug underneath your seat, is where this product is plugged in. It comes with a protective cover. When removing it, take care not to break it. With the zip ties included (I just used my own longer ones), all you have to do now is wire it along, making sure you don't clamp off anything you shouldn't. Then you drive it along a stretch of road to program it. That's the only thing I've got to say on the subject. It's the quickest and easiest install I've ever done, and it's extremely useful. br>br>I'm not only a new rider, but also a new owner of a manual transmission vehicle. When I'm out riding, it's easy for me to lose track of what I'm wearing. This is wonderful in my opinion.

Luminous Multiple tie downs, two double-sided adhesive blocks, and a cable with a red seven-segment led display on one end and a male version of the diagnostic connector on the other are all included in the kit
5/5

br>br>It took about 20 minutes to set up and install everything after following the instructions. The majority of the time is spent determining where to place the display, installing it, and then routing the cable to the connector beneath the seat. br>I chose to place the new display next to the old one - It appears to be quite interesting. (See image. ) I used both sticky pads)br>br>Routing the wire is as easy as avoiding pinch points and hot spots! (She said that)br>br>After that, connect the cable to the diagnostic connector under the seat, start the motorcycle in neutral, and the unit counts up. br>br>You select first gear and wait for the unit to flash rapidly, then select the next gear - all the way to sixth gearbr>br>The instructions are in several languages and are fairly comprehensive- the only thing missing is that it takes about 15 minutes to complete. It took the unit 20 seconds to recognize and display each piece of equipment, which isn't a big deal but I thought it was worth mentioning. (I figured it would only take a few seconds)br>br>Also, if you can't safely elevate the back wheel, do it on a road with no cars. br>br>It looks great and works great!.

Installing the CB650F was a breeze
5/5

On a Honda CB650F, it's incredibly simple to install. Simply plug it in and go. Choosing where to glue it was the most difficult part. br>br>Because I don't have a stand, I had to learn on the street. I took a 5-block stretch near my house and went through the gears at the slowest possible speed. This was also a simple task because I had to place all six gears under those five blocks. The set includes a branded face mask. br>br> plate that can easily be swapped out for the original. So, that's another plus. br>br>As many others have noted, you can only see what gear you're in when you fully release the clutch, which is to be expected given that we're reading ECU data through the diagnostic port. One amusing feature of the CB650F is that when downshifting with the clutch engaged, the upper gear of the gear combination (e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. '3' will appear from second to first, followed by '-'. ', from 5th to 4th, it will show '6' for a short time before going '-'.

Red gear indicator on a 2006 cbr600rr
4/5

The instructions aren't super clear, but after you plug it in, MAKE SURE YOUR BIKE IS IN NEUTRAL AND ON A REAR STAND. Doing this on the road would be difficult, so let it count down from 6 to 0. 1 then it will show a c, then go into first and let the clutch out, then it will show a flashing 1 then rev a little more and it will show a -. When it shows a 2, go to 2nd gear and keep going until you reach 6 gear. Once you've done that, take the bike off the stand and ride it around. When you turn the bike on, it will now count from 1-100. It will show you what gear you are in when your clutch is pulled in or when you are going down gears until you let the clutch out fully great product for the money no more trying to go into 6th when I'm already in 6th lol also the light is bright even in the day time at least the red one is also use your own 3m tape it will hold a lot longer great addition to my 2006 cbr600rr very happy with it good saler and fast shipping it ev.

My 2019 Honda CB300R has no problems with it
5/5

It was a cinch to set up - To connect to the connector under the seat, it's truly plug and play. Programming was simple, but I recommend putting the bike on a stand because you must shift through the gears to program it (which is a little riskier than doing so while riding). It's fantastic! br>br> Many people will argue that they don't need it because they can "hear" the gear by listening to the engine rather than by looking at it. the speed, but it's also nice to be able to see what gear you're in with a quick glance down. br>br>With the double-sided tape, it stuck well to my speedometer. double-sided tape (pre-cut) is included. cut for mounting on the sides and back). br>br>Note: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "creative+ para You'll only see a line if you're in neutral or have the clutch engaged; I took the photo as I turned the bike on to capture a gear being displayed (it "counts down" when the bike is first turned on).

Love it
4/5

This gear indicator is one of my favorites! It's been installed on my 2008 CBR600RR and it's working perfectly. Even in direct sunlight, the color is very bright (green, not sure about other colors). It is a little drowned out by direct sunlight, but not to a great extent. It was impossible to make programming any easier. It took me 30 minutes to install, mostly because I'm picky about how my wiring is routed. The double-sided tape is worthless, so I deducted one star. Even after cleaning the surface with alcohol, the 3M tape would not stick. I did the same thing with 3M tape, and it now won't wiggle. Other than that, I really like it; it's very responsive. On a side note, the clutch lever has to be fully released before it registers a gear, which isn't a problem for me, but if you're starting out in first, don't expect it to pick it up until after you let go of the clutch.
