Selected User Reviews For AEM 30-0300 X-Series Wideband UEGO AFR Sensor Controller Gauge
I put a 12v bench test to the test - There has been no progress. The unit is no longer alive. br>br>When I contacted the company, they advised me to request an RMA via email. They "approved" the RMA but then put it on hold for over two weeks, causing me to miss my Amazon return deadline. br>br>I had to call Amazon to get a return/refund sorted out. br>br>I was buying this to tune out a car that would have ended up with a FULL set of gauges to match, but AEM lost a customer for life, not because of a DOA product (which happens with electronics occasionally). ), but rather because of their poor customer service.
4100, with a 30-year graduation. 4110, and I've tried every low-cost alternative I could think of. I've fixed a lot of innovate with E8 error codes using ish wideband from 14point7 to innovate. br>br>I'll never recommend anything else than this x-ray machine. The numbers are large, easy to read, have a lot of range from 8 to 22 gasoline afr, and they warm up and read accurately SUPER quickly; they're truly great units.
It frequently restarts and does not power on at times, and it was acting up right out of the box. br> Aem has not returned my calls. It's been difficult to get through to a tech support representative, and I've had no luck so far. I was finally able to communicate with her via email. I've been convinced it's my gauge since the beginning, but aem said it's my sensor. I was sent a new one, but the issue still exists. I'm an expert in electrical and wiring, so I'm confident it's not a user error. Let's see if they'll replace or repair my gauge; if they do, this review will be removed and replaced with a positive one.
I finally paid for it and installed it in my pickup truck. If you have a carbureted engine, this is a must-have because it eliminates all guesswork from carburetor tuning. I was close with the carburetor settings, but after watching the gauge on the way to work and back, I was able to get it perfect in no time. I was able to quickly determine my primary and secondary jetting, as well as the accelerator pump cam to use. The kit is well-made, and both wiring harnesses come with plenty of length. I used a clamp to hold the O2 sensor bung in place. I am very pleased with my purchase.
There isn't a better wideband gauge than this! I wanted to keep an eye on my AFRs, especially when doing etune pulls. After extensive research, AEM has proven to be the most accurate gauge/sensor combination available. The x-face with green LEDs is one of my favorites. Because it strikes a good balance between stealth and visibility, the series has a lot of fans. SMY also manufactures a vent gauge pod with a factory-like appearance. like the way you look This is a gauge that I strongly recommend.
I bought two of these and installed them on identical cars for weekend use. Seven months later, and only about 750 miles later, one of the sensors failed. br>br>The bad news is that according to AEM's website, the sensor is not covered by warranty. The sensor was possibly a dud; the car was tuned and ran exceptionally well, so I'm confident it didn't go out due to overheating; it was also installed at an angle as per the instructions. On the one hand, it's a fantastic product from aem, but not so much from Bosch. br>br>A new sensor will set me back $60-$80. On Amazon, it costs $100.
The device hasn't worked in a long time. It only does one thing: it flashes L1. I've since sent the unit to AEM, who said it worked fine for them (if you unplug the O2 sensor, it says sensor and stays lit, so I don't think it's a power issue), I've since sent the unit to AEM, who said it worked fine for them. (Perhaps it's a wiring harness, but I haven't heard from them in a long time. ) I'll update once I hear back from AEM or figure out the problem or user error. Until then, it's a big waste of money to buy something out of the box because there's no way to get a refund.
On my Suzuki Bandit 1250, it was installed today. Because this is spec'd for a car, the cable length is obviously excessive, but I had no trouble wrapping and tucking it away. I did make my own mount out of scrap aluminum and a pre-made template. RAM mount that already exists br>br>The AEM gauge is a small, sleek, all-digital device. I was under the impression that the rotating portion of the gauge was a mechanical dial, but it is in fact digital. It only weighs a few ounces and can be mounted almost anywhere. br>br>The 18x1 sensor is used. My motorcycle's 12mm bung was too big for it at $25. The included bung is the perfect size and welds in place with ease. br>br>The instructions that come with the kit are extremely detailed and include a variety of optional usage instructions. Overall, the packaging was adequate, and delivery was quicker than expected. Many thanks to the seller! br>br>I think this kit is a great value for the price, especially given the quality of the components and the range of operation (wideband). I'll probably buy it again for other vehicles.
