Questions & Answers

What is the diameter of the pin's hole? Instead of using a clip, I'd like to use a small lock. ?

You won't be able to use a lock because the hole is only big enough for a pin to fit through.

What is the level of difficulty?

I don't recall the load rating, but it had a safety factor of over 6 when I used it to pull my dual axle 12' trailer with an Artic Cat Wildcat from Georgia to Loveland, Colorado.

Is this long enough to connect to a 2 1/2-inch receiver?

Yes, it's long enough for a two-person conversation. Receiver size is 1/2" It's what I use it for, and it's the right size. Other websites will also provide you with the 5/8 In. Pin to Hitch- 21580 Curt is for two and a half inches Recipients are individuals who receive information. 21580 21580 21580 21580 21580 21580 21580 215

The pin that locks the hitch into the receiver was missing from the hitch I ordered. Is this the part you're talking about?

It happened to me as well. Amazon sent me a new one with a clip and instructed me not to send the old one back. The package was open ended, so a clip must have fallen out somewhere.

In August of this year, I purchased my first truck
5/5

This weekend, I towed my first load. I bought a Honda Pioneer 500 from a 2 hour away dealer. A class IV hitch receiver is installed on the truck. I bought a Harbor Freight 5000-pound-rated adjustable hitch and ball. I purchased this hitch because the adjustable hitch did not come with a pin to secure it to the receiver. It has the same appearance as the pins on the adjustable hitch. The total weight of the load was just over 2000 pounds. In my nearly four-hour journey, there were no surprises. I'll probably get a locking pin for added security, but for now, this will suffice, and the price is reasonable. I'll be in business as soon as I figure out how to back up a small single axle trailer properly.

basic
3/5

This is a simple clip and pin. I'd like to see a second hole for a backup guide wire in case the clip is removed. br>br>This pin has nothing to do with it - At one motel, someone attempted to pry the padlock open. I never expected someone to steal the hitch platform, and I had only used the lock to secure the safety chain. So maybe get a locking pin and clip, because the world doesn't seem to be as honest as it used to be?.

Not at all what is depicted
3/5

In a typical application, pins will undoubtedly suffice. However, I purchased these because the photo depicts the pin's bend in the same plane as the keeper pin's hole. They're not on the same plane; in fact, they're 90 degrees out of phase, as are the majority of pins on the market. It was a reasonable price, and it will suffice for a standard hitch, but not for what I require.

A Hitch Pin was required for a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 2 inch Hitch Receiver
5/5

I bought a D- My 2 inch hitch receiver came with a ring hitch, but it didn't come with a hitch pin. This clip-on hitch pin was discovered and works perfectly. I'm not planning on leaving my attachment connected full-time, so this pin slid right into the hitch pin hole and the clip snapped in place without a hitch. I decided to buy two hitch pins in case I misplaced the first.

Fits 2
5/5

Hitch measures 5 inches. Most hitch pins are about 3/8 inch too short.

The handle and the pin hole are shown to be parallel
3/5

It isn't the case. One end, the handle, or the pin, may have to stick up with the pin hole in its current position. The image in the ad is deceptive, rendering it useless in a variety of applications.

Heavy duty, to be sure
5/5

Heavy duty and very nice. It does what it's supposed to do with confidence and longevity (I've had another one for about 5 years). Curt's products have never failed to satisfy me.
