Questions & Answers

What should I do if these rear tube fenders do not fit ?

As far as I can tell, yes. Please allow me to suggest... With a 4" lift and 35s, I can easily reach the top of the ski. There are tube fenders on the front and back of my car. Their love makes me happy. It is not possible for me to run 33s anymore. When 33s are used, the gap looks really bad. With 33-inch tires, make sure you install fenders that cover the gap of the tires. The flat fenders and 35s on my jeep, however, are my favorite. It rubs when I fully articulate, but it's not that bad. Just need bump stops or a 1" body lift for it to be comfortable. This should be of some help

The guards should fit over the corner guards of the barricade without requiring any modifications. The rear fenders of the barricade look different, so maybe I should get a Smittybilt?

You can use the full corner guards if that's what you have. I just wish the corners were half as wide. To modify the corner guards, you'll need to drill new holes in them.

Is there anyone who has put these on the back and used a different style on the front and still looks ?

In addition to these, I have several friends who run a variety of styles in the front and in the rear as well. Their simplicity makes them blend in so well that they look good.

They are supposed to bolt directly to the body of the Jeep, or are there pieces in the wheel well that they mount to? Doesn't there seem to be a picture of the backsides?

The bolts are connected directly to the surface of the

Despite its robust construction, the product is not waterproof
3/5

The solid construction of these fenders and the aggressive look they have with their textured blank finish really caught my attention, but after installing them to replace my stock flares, I realized that the quality of the fenders are not up to par. pt 2. It is not long enough on the front side to cover the OEM fender well opening and actually leaves one of the stock screws exposed on the front side. I was able to install it in no time at all, and the overall construction is quite impressive, but I would've appreciated it if they had engineered them to fit so I didn't have an ugly gap between the vertical bars.

This is a good product
4/5

I bought these to match my Smittybilt Tube Fenders on the front of my 04 TJ Rubicon. The colors match perfect, they look awesome, and they are built very My installation did not fit perfectly, though I think it would have been due to me not installing corner guards. I have no trouble getting all the screws in and they look nice on the Jeep, they just kind of don't fit as well as they should on the Jeep. As well as the new screws (locking nuts, washers, etc. ), there are new hardware parts. The factory holes from the stock fenders are used (although not all of them are covered in these, there might be one or two). Although I had to drill the holes a bit bigger to make the screws fit through, they worked just fine. Although I am not sure if all people have that problem.

In addition, the 98 TJ install was easy, with the exception of the 1 bolt hole on every flare which was impossible to use without drilling out the interior of the vehicle
4/5

The installation was done on 98 Toyota The OEM bolt holes only have to be enlarged to allow the component to fit. Otherwise, it is On the flares, the bolts are not used in the bottom bolt holes, as they are covered with padded tape The flares are now adorned with From the bottom of the picture, 2nd from the left There is a bolt hole on each side that requires drilling from the inside of the cabin in order to gain access to a pocket within the interior so you can attach the supplied bolts. I did not bother with this because it seems to be attached with all the other bolts. You do not have to worry about loctite or anything else falling off because the lock nuts are supplied. I had almost no trouble installing the program, the biggest PITA was keeping my hand pain-free for at least half an hour You should try to keep the inner fender liner peeled back at all times. I found the installation process to be pretty straightforward. The design is pleasing to the eye. You can tell they're heavy and well built from their weight.

These flares are very nice
5/5

I bought this for my 89 YJ so I can have more flex in my fender wells. A little more than three inches are added at the back. The flares should be held up, and a line should be drawn and cut along the line. I have been jumping off rocks and trees for two weeks, and they are very strong.

Armor that stands up to the elements
5/5

It's been several years since I had these tube flares on my rock crawler Jeep. There has been a lot of damage done to them. They are of excellent quality, and I am extremely pleased with how they turned out. The flares are a great addition for Jeep projects because they block most splashing water and mud. I've already ordered a second set for another project. As well as being nice for kids and adults to use while climbing into the back seat without the Jeep's top, they are also fun to step on and hold onto. Smittybilt's products saved the body during a rollover, both from these flares and from the corner armor.

Fenders that are strong and durable! It was a good decision to buy All the mounting hardware was included in my package along with my fenders
5/5

As I stated before, the holes for the front mounts on both sides of the new fender lined up with the stock mount bracket behind them so the bolts could not be used. The bolts in my car were redrilling and placed by me. You got it. Keep the splash shield in good condition by not being gentle with it! Get out of the way of that bad boy! This will make it so much easier to put the nuts on and they will stay on! Despite their sturdy nature the fenders have a great appearance! In a review, I read that consumers were unhappy with a small gap between the front and rear fenders. As I mentioned, there is a small gap in the data. Metal to metal is the only option. A set of flimsy plastic fenders is the best way to get a perfect fit!.

The tube fenders are very easy to install
5/5

It came with a right and left side. All the holes lined up on my 99 TJ without issue. There are gaps at the bottom and they don't follow the curve of the wheel cut outs exactly, but they I think that they could be a little wider to help keep dirt off the sides of the Jeep, but for the price they're fine.

They aren't to be beat for the price
4/5

My 2006 Rubicon Unlimited came with a front set of Smitybilt tube fenders with 3" flare, so I ordered these fenders to match. Since I didn't plan to go bigger than 35" tires for my rig, and after reading about all the different tire manufacturers, it didn't make any sense to pay $2,000 for tires It would take 3 times as long for the same thing to be completed. In the box, the rear flares were packaged very securely, there was no chipping or scratching, and all the hardware was inside, (although I did replace the bolts with better quality ones). They fit well and look great, and bolting them on was no problem at all. As time goes on it will become more evident if powder coating will be durable, but right now the coat looks great and thick and will see how they hold up a year from now, however for price what's the big deal about cleaning.
