Questions & Answers
You will need to purchase a "Fit Pack" for your specific vehicle, as well as "WingBars" to fit the width of your vehicle (for more information on the specific fit kit and length of bar required for your vehicle, visit Thule's website). I understand why they sell each item separately, as these are the only "one size fits all" components of the entire kit, but their item descriptions should be much more specific! br>br>I'm glad these clamps arrived a week ahead of schedule for a cross-country trip. We still had time to buy and ship the proper fit pack (we knew the wingbars were sold separately) because we were moving across the country! br>br>The graphics here show *all three* items in a single image, but you must buy each one separately. The "fit kit," as well as the bar, are likely to cost around the same as the clamps. With so much money invested in this roof system, not to mention whatever valuables you might want to secure to it, it's also a good idea to invest in a FOURTH item, the "key kit," to ensure that these clamps lock down in the "closed" position on your vehicle and require a key to remove.
The 711400 Thule WingBar, Kit 5046, and 710501 Evo clamp foot pack are all included in the 711400 Thule WingBar, Kit 5046, and 710501 Evo clamp foot pack.
The side flush rails, as well as foot pack 460R, kit 3142, and 711400 Evo Wing Bars, are required.

The instructions are a little difficult to follow and leave out some crucial information, such as how to loosen the clamps before installing them. The clamps were loose out of the box, but they wouldn't fit on my SUV, so I had to tighten them up. I fiddled for over an hour before realizing they could be loosened further. Then it's a matter of trial and error to get them to sit perfectly on the roof. That was less aggravating, but you must exercise extreme caution. They are, however, fantastic once they are on. I've driven them for 1,500 miles with a full carrier box on top and have had no problems. They're sturdy and trouble-free. free.
To begin, let's look at the basics. The foot camp pack is simple to put together (push until you hear the snap!). The adapter kit, on the other hand, isn't quite as simple to put together. proof. When the adapter is fully seated on the foot, it can be difficult to tell. And when it's put in place, the "cover" doesn't completely hide the unsightly insides. br>br>I'm giving it four stars because it's a four-star restaurant. Compared to other products on the market, it's a five-star product, but there's always room for improvement!.
Amazon re-shipped an item that had been returned without inspecting the contents. The item ordered was delivered in good condition, but inside was a used Thule clamp foot pack of a different model with locks and no key. I ordered WingEVO bars from Amazon, but this item would not work with them. For me, it was a waste of time, and for Amazon, it was a waste of time and money.
The installation is straightforward, but the measurements are a little difficult to nail down, and it will take some finagling to get them just right.
Only complaint is that the locks don't feel particularly strong in my opinion; if someone really wanted to pop off the cover, it doesn't feel particularly secure, despite the use of a single key.
My Mazda will love it. I leave it on my car and check it every now and then to make sure it's still secure. It is still safe and secure. There are no issues.
These are perfect for holding my EVO wing bars. They're very secure, and I've had no issues thus far.
