Questions & Answers

How big is the thread?

It does not specify the weight. It has a thicker feel than the Coats XP thread. I wish I could find a 5,000-meter spool of it.

Is it possible to dye ties with this?

I'm not sure because I haven't tried it. Good luck with your endeavors.

Is this spool compatible with a Singer sewing machine?

I use this thread for my serger and with an adapter for my single needle machines, depending on the machine. It is clear that it will not fit on a single needle spool. You can buy an adapter or feed it with plastic storage containers with a hole in the lid, which I've heard people do.

What is the thread's thickness?

It's the same thickness as regular sewing thread, and it works much better on these large cones.

Don't pay attention to the positive feedback

The thread quality has deteriorated significantly (low strength, fuzzy, and thin). There is no way this is upholstery quality. Based on the reviews here, I decided to buy this thread. 6000 yards of upholstery-quality, all-weather fabric For less than ten dollars, you can get a multi-purpose thread. Please include me in your plans. Unfortunately, the old adage "you get what you pay for" still applies (though I believe you get even less in this case). br>br>This thread is a shambles. It's easy for me to snap it with my fingers. Let's put it to the test: This thread is a little thicker than Coats XP, according to one reviewer. The roll I got isn't even close to what I expected. The coats are thicker and more durable. I can only break it by wrapping it around my fingers a few times, and that hurt like hell. br>br>OK, maybe that wasn't a fair test. Here's a roll of Coats Dual Duty - most likely 2 the age of three years Yes, I'm capable of breaking this one, but not as quickly as the Foamily. I wouldn't want to do it too many times in a row because it bites into my fingers. It's also smoother and less linty than the Foamily, just like the XP. br>br>Need a less difficult test? How about a spool of 20-pound cotton? year- old polymer all-purpose thread with a specific function Pink! It's in my possession because it belonged to my mother, and I have a lot of her old sewing supplies that I can't throw away despite the fact that they're mostly useless. Let me tell you something. It's less useless than the foamily because a) it breaks with the same amount of force as the brand-new Foamily "upholstery" thread and b) it's free! br>br>This thread is advertised as "all-purpose" in addition to its "canvas," "drapery," and "upholstery" uses. thread with a specific goal However, the roll I received is more like serger thickness and has a fuzzy texture similar to embroidery thread. It's flimsy, which isn't ideal for regular "all-around" use. use for a specific reason" After running it through my machine for ten minutes, I noticed lint in the bobbin case. br>br>Because the reviews were so positive, I assumed the seller (Urban Mall) had either switched suppliers and neglected to update the listing, or I had received the incorrect item. So, before I began writing this review, I sought their assistance in comprehending what I was seeing. In my email, I also mentioned that, according to Amazon reviews, other customers had received thread of similar poor quality (thin, weak, and linty). I believe the negative reviews began in August, but it's difficult to say when people received the product vs. when they read about it on the internet. when they were writing the review br>br>While Urban Mall's response was courteous, it was ineffective in explaining why the thread I received was so different from what I had read in the reviews: br>br> "I apologize for the confusion, we have not changed suppliers, the item is the same item we've been selling all this time. If you are not satisfied with the thread, you can request a return with Amazon. "br>br>That's great, but I'd like to make sure that the next buyer doesn't get stuck with an inferior product that they chose based on great reviews that my experience doesn't support. I'm not sure how all of these enthusiastic reviewers believe this is good material. I mean, the roll I got does not match any of their descriptions (like "strong," "shiny," "thick," or "smooth"). Is it possible that I ordered the wrong roll from Amazon? Is it possible that some of their rolls were mislabeled by their supplier? I was expecting them to ask for package/label information, a roll description, or a photo. They did not, despite the fact that mine resembles their sample photo but with a pink cone. BUYER BEWARE until they straighten this out. br>br>Anyway, BUYER BEWARE until they get this straightened out. You might expect an "all-purpose" thread suitable for "Upholstery, Canvas, Drapery, Beading, Quilting," but instead get a delicate, fuzzy, weak thread.

CHEAP! Make sure you don't throw your money away! The thread isn't very strong! The thread broke in half when I gently pulled on it

What a load of nonsense. How are these individuals able to sell such a low-cost item? People giving it five stars can only mean one of two things: either they haven't used the so-called "thread" yet or the seller is shipping two different versions of this item. Just a word of caution to prospective buyers:.

Sewing totes with this method is a breeze
5/5

I made a mistake and purchased the incorrect thread. I was looking for Tex 69 but accidentally ordered this. Wow. It appeals to me. I put it through a fire test and discovered that it is made of polyester. I'm making wallets and totes, and this method works well with cotton and faux suede. So far, everything has gone well. I needed something for top stitching, and this is more for sewing two pieces of fabric together, such as quilting, clothing, totes, and so on. Ok, I can shift my focus now that I have this thread. Although I believe it is too thin to top stitch my totes, it did sew flannel, faux suede, cotton, and silk dupioni without issue. The stitching is nice and tight. I used a HA x 1 130/703H 15,1 Organ needle. 75/11 in size. Those, too, were ordered through Amazon. My vintage all-metal Brother sewing machine from the 1950s and my new Laura Ashley Brother sewing machine I purchased here both worked perfectly with the needle and thread.

For a 6000 yard cone of thread, this is an excellent price
3/5

This thread is very affordable to use for general all-purpose sewing projects. I wouldn't use it for any of my nicer giftable sewing projects, though. There is no smoothness to the thread. There are little fuzzles all along the thread strand, which could indicate that it lacks the strength of other, higher-quality threads.

This is the greatest thread ever created
5/5

This is a fantastic discussion. It gleams with a lovely sheen. The thread is smooth, making it simple to sew tents or other items with it. It has an incredibly high tensile strength. You won't be able to break it with your fingers. This makes it ideal for securing items that are subjected to a lot of wear and tear. br>I purchased the black and white because you can fix almost anything with these two colors and it will look great when you're done.

After learning to sew at, I've completed the circle
5/5

I learned to sew at the age of seven and am now working on several sewing projects in my retirement years, at a fraction of the cost of paying $2 per yard. At a well-known discount store, you can get 200 yards for $27. I bought a cheap stand to use with my new Brothers sewing machine, and I used to teach sewing in high school. I recently completed 42 patio cushion slipcovers. Zippers, welt cord, and finished seams are all included. All of my sewing hasn't even scratched the surface of the spool's remaining thread.

This thread was advertised as being heavy-duty and suitable for use on furniture. It was about the same thickness as regular thread. I believe it was even thinner than the brown thread in my sewing kit. I only had to raise my head about 4 inches from my couch, and it broke five times. In my hands, I could easily shatter it. It is NOT a heavy-duty product.
