Although these cards are smaller and thinner than the cards included with my tablet weaving book, they are quite sturdy. Because of the thinness, they seem to be fairly rigid. If you travel with a belt loom and small drawstring bag, it is easier to transport these. There is no doubt that portability is an advantage. Compared to a standard playing card, the thickness is better in comparison to a good Bicycle card deck, and the card is slightly stiffer than a fresh card. The sides are smooth, too.
