The thickness is consistent and the value is excellent. However, you get what you pay for, and the quality is lower. Due to the blemishes, the leather is very dry and stiff when it arrives, and only about 40" of the strip is usable. Having said that, I will most likely buy it again because it offers a lot for the price and comes in a convenient one-size-fits-all package. Shipping is available the next day. When you're in the middle of a project and you run out of leather, this is a great solution!.
The leather is fantastic. br>br>While each piece of leather is distinct, there are some characteristics that all leather shares. "Very Good" was my response. I'm very happy. This leather is of excellent quality, and I am very pleased with it. Smooth and supple almost to a fault. The edges are perfectly straight and have no width variations. A minimum of 50" in length is required. This is what I bought to make a belt out of, and it'll work perfectly for me. This is a fantastic deal at the price I paid. Though I would have been satisfied if I had paid twice as much. br>I would never accept money in exchange for a positive review. That is something I do not believe in.
Randy.
It is good quality for the price.
Very well-kept and of excellent quality. There are no strange odors or flaws. I quickly cut a piece and glued it rough side up to a sturdy paddle, and it's now my favorite leather strop for sharpening knives! br>br> I'd buy it again. It arrived two days after I placed my order.
When you rub this leather strap, it shreds. I'm not sure what went wrong, but it's the worst leather I've ever bought.
It's got to be a vintage item. In the rolled position, the leather was dry and slightly stretched. It had buckle (bubble-like) marks on the surface when I unrolled it. I now purchase it directly from Tandy's physical location, where new stock is kept.
This is exactly what it says it is, and it is of a higher quality than I had anticipated. The surface of the finished side was very smooth and free of flaws. The leather has a firm but not rigid feel to it. I purchased it to use as a razor strop, and it performs admirably. I'm glad I got a long strap so I can use it for other projects.
