I tried to buy this foam from the store, but seem to have been poked by a child [I hope]. They arrived without poke marks, which I was surprised about. As part of the school band's bake sale, I made Halloween marshmallow pops from them. To keep dust from getting everywhere, I wrapped them in plastic, poked the sticks through the plastic, and wrapped them again.
I enjoyed it immensely.
" This block held them well and worked exactly as I had expected. But anytime I had to handle them, they really flaked off in my hands Rather than a quantity left over from manufacture, there was a large amount of it Whenever I worked with them, I kept running into this problem.
I am not going to buy this product again or recommend it.
You leave junk on your hands and its surrounding areas every time you touch it. My experience with similar products has been varied, but I have never encountered one as bad or as dirty. When you get to the point of having your arrangement done it will be okay, but good luck getting there! There was no use in keeping it!.
Purchased them twice, once for a housing project and once for a housing facility. The lighter they are, the better they are for holding. The price is less than at craft stores, so I think it's a good deal.
After dipping cake pops in melted chocolate, I used these to hold them while drying. It is certainly acceptable to use them for this purpose, but keep in mind that they can "crumble" very easily and leave tiny bits of foam behind.
I think they did well.
