I've finally got around to using it
5/5

Here's an update from the past year The product still holds up well. I am glad I bought it. As of now, that wheel is attached to a griffin grip and dedicated for trimming purposes. As you can see, I did end up getting a shimpo, and it is nice to have this one since I will be trimming it. This wheel does not provide me with the smaller incremental speed changes I was used to. A shimpo doesn't have as much subtlety as the shimpo. It was much easier to control the speed of this one with the hand control. In conclusion, I still think this is an excellent option for people who are interested in pottery but are not interested in shelling out a lot of money It is only an issue that you must throw directly on the wheelhead and wire pieces off (which is a good skill to learn) or drill the bat pins - there is no other option. The solution is not perfect, but it works. This is an update with the A couple of weeks after Wheel was first used daily, it began to produce a regular thumping noise and no longer felt true. Checked the belt and it was in good working order. After removing the wheelhead, the next step was to install the brakes. It is now mostly smooth again after cleaning out the clay under the plate. Put silicon caulk around the plate in an attempt to prevent it from recurring. This could be as a result of the wheel bearing getting swamped. As for waterproofing the wheel bearing, I don't know how other wheels do it. To make sure that no water or clay get under the plate that binds the wheel head to the body, I would recommend being careful when removing the splash pan. There have been no problems throwing it since then In the past two weeks, I've thrown 7-inches There are 8 lb platters on it and it still holds together mostly well, though it is starting to become strained at this level The gear is still smooth, and I actually cancelled my speedball big boss subscription because I am still happy with the setup.

I have to buy bats now. The next couple of days I plan to drill holes for bat pins since it is very easy to do. I wish I had done that from the beginning. In the few weeks since covid started, I've kept it on the majority of the time. The original review is as follows My wife and I were very pleased when I got this, and I was able to throw through Coronavirus. Since I've only heard of people using expensive name brand wheels, I was a little worried. I had expected a more difficult time, but this has been a pleasure. In my experience, it is a very smooth throwing experience, not difficult to adjust the speed in small increments, and the wheel spins fast and it has handled the four-buck kick with ease. Clay loads of five pounds have been thrown on it at a time. don't know what the maximum amount would be that you would feel comfortable using. (I have done pottery for about a year) so not sure where you'd run into issues. It is great for bowls, mugs, jars, teapots, etc - but I have never worked with more than six pounds of clay. I've only been wiring pots off so far, but since there are no pins, I plan to make plaster bats in the long run. Plaster bats have been used by some people to place on a wheel over a thin layer of clay, but I haven't tried it

I am not sure how hard it would be to drill bat pins into As a temporary measure, it is very straightforward to just wire the pieces off with water. It does come with a thin layer of machine oil on the wheel and probably on the motorized parts, too, so it will smell like oil the first few times you use it. I still had to wipe off some oil from the grooves on the wheel head after I cleaned it. These wheels are lower to the ground than standard wheels in the United States. As I sit on the lower step of the stool, I find that I am very comfortable with it sitting on the ground (in a kiddie swimming pool in a bedroom). Perhaps you could anchor it to bricks, a table, or something else According to the rule of thumb, your seat should be the same height as the wheel, and I know that in some parts of the world people have their wheels on the ground (even though it's not the same setup as most American wheels). I have used it during the last 25 times. I still think it is I learned that when centered, I should adjust downward due to the fast spin of the wheel. It seems like the top speed on this wheel would be quite a bit higher than you would If I run into any problems, I will update again.

A review of the first day
4/5

In my greatest fear, I feared that the wheel wouldn't turn on, but this didn't happen since the power strip wasn't turned on! The rest of the time, things were mostly fine after that self fulfilling prophecy. The first thing you need to know is that this wheel has 12 spokes. So what will you sit on? It says 6 inches high in the description, so what are you going to do? In order to raise it, I am currently working on it. I have so far gotten it to work on a couple of 4 x 4's, but I'm continuing to improve it. Additionally, it is so short that depending on your height (or leg length) you may not find it to be as comfortable as you expected For speed control, it is challenging to use the pedal comfortably. It felt more comfortable to use the stick since I am 5'5" and I chose to do so. I didn't like sitting too close to the wheel since I didn't like the pedal being so close to it. Additionally, the wheel does not have a pin for a bat. If you want to be like me and not use bats, you can use a pancake of clay and stick a bat on it. In addition, the wheel itself is SMOOTH in its operation. This wheel worked really well at any speed, from the slowest rotation to the highest speed. This pedal/stick has very good responsiveness, so I assume it is great for throwing pieces under 5 pounds. The weight limit is 3 pounds now, but I haven't tried anything larger. the machine) but I'll know more when I make improvements to After receiving the wheel, I started using it immediately. I was able to create the same way I had before on my broken wheel of old. I will have to update this review after.

The price is reasonable for a wheel of this quality
5/5

This tool is great for trimming smaller projects and throwing them. The wheel speed, the leveling, and speed control are all good and the wheel power is sufficient. It has a weird foot position for pedals, but it is still useful.

The seller is honest and the product is great
5/5

I am amazed. WOW! I am just speechless. am not only in love with the pottery wheel, I am in love with the company as well. I totally understand that it took several days for it to be received. An online store operated by a third party. As soon as I set up the wheel, I truly felt like I was in a different world. During my time on the wheel, I spent a lot of time throwing. Its balance is excellent and its speed and HP are sufficient to center a good bit A convenient feature is the adjustable It is about the 11th pot that the wheel starts making thumping sounds. Amazon was able to balance the wheel after it became slightly off. Upon being notified, both the third party seller and I received an email asking for a photo or video of the issue. The week was midweek, so even though I meant to, I did not get back to them. Later, I forgot all about it.

Only a week later, ANOTHER wheel appeared. Rather than asking me to confirm my order, they sent it without me having to respond to my emails. My deep appreciation goes out to you, and I look forward to purchasing more of your products in the future.

This product would not be recommended
3/5

It is fragile. Considering it was only $200, i suppose that's not surprising. As I was turning the unit on high speeds, I am experiencing some vibrations as well as a noticeable knock on each rotation. The condition of the device is such that I can't use it. Had it just been flimsy and functioning properly, I wouldn't have bothered to write a review.
