This is not the case. Play with them, but leave them open so the children can enjoy The cushions not only stay soft and pliable, but do not dry out if left open. The excitement of building and designing and making things with this wonderful dough is tremendous. Just having the pleasure of squeezing it through your fingers is just fantastic.

You've got some good stuff here

It's almost as good as the regular game- This brand is loved by my daughter. All the colors are her favorites, but purple is her favorite. It's soft enough for her tiny hands (she's 4) and doesn't have an off-putting smell. This item does dry out fairly quickly, but it is easy to rehydrate and has a strong color. You should make sure you cover a table or even another surface with a cloth in case it stains.

I had to clean my kids' tables after they played with this play dough

The Clorox wipe I used to remove the stain failed to remove it. The smell of the product sent both of us to the doctor having headaches even after only five minutes The game took me 10 minutes to play. This item was not appealing to me.
