I bought this to help me make little clay noodles for one of my mugs. I used to spend so much time rolling out little stoneware noodles and they would dry out so quickly. Now I can make a little clay slug and pop it in this little tool and make as few or as many clay noodles as I need. It's also incredibly simple to maintain. I dismantled it to see how much cleaning I'd have to do, and it was practically spotless just from use. It's well worth the smidgeon of change. Although I do not work with polymer clay, it serves me well.
During the first use of the item, it broke. During use, all of the pieces disintegrated. The clay first pushed the inner piece apart, after which it became stuck and refused to turn. Then, while attempting to repair it, the handle snapped off! I tried really hard to give it a chance and make it work, even though it was a pain and a real pain to use, but it kept failing. Because clay was soft and pliable, it should never have broken the item while attempting to extrude it. I'd appreciate a refund and a replacement in the hopes of proving to you all that it was just a bad one!.
It only lasted two uses before breaking. I'm in a terrible mood right now. I was fortunate enough to have a manual extruder on hand to finish the job. This was one of my most fervent hopes.
In a time of need, I placed an order for a graduation cake. When it was dry, it was squeaky and difficult to turn. We threw in some food. Because we were in a hurry, we used safe grease, but the metal turned our fondant black. I haven't looked into what we're doing incorrectly yet, but I'm hoping there's a way to fix it.
This extruder performs as well as any well-known brand. The extruding action, in my opinion, is a little labor intensive, but that could be said about any of them. When you crank it, it squeals like a little piggy being tortured. I put some shavings from a dry soap bar on the threads, which helped a little.
This is so simple to use. I have a similar one, but you have to push it down, which is difficult with the clay in there. I can easily get the clay out of this one because it is a circle.
It makes an awful metal-on-metal squeak when I twist it. I WD-ed a couple of times, but it didn't work out It squeaks even after 40 minutes. After just one use, the handle is also painful to my hand. I'd save you some time and money by spending a few extra dollars on a higher-quality product.
This isn't ideal. When you turn the handle, it makes a shrill squeak. It gets the job done, but it isn't particularly user-friendly. I've already noticed the pump bending and becoming more difficult to use as time goes on.
