Because the spicket is too high, you have to pick it up and pour the remaining contents out, which I believe defeats the purpose of purchasing it.
I've had this wax melter for about 6 months and am extremely pleased with my purchase. I needed to increase my production, but I couldn't afford the large $1k+ melting pots I'd seen online; this was affordable, holds more than enough wax for the batch sizes I currently make, and with a few extra pouring pitchers, I can make a lot of candles in one go. br>br>At first, I had to experiment to figure out how to get my wax to the right temperature. It was easiest for me to heat the pot to around 200 degrees and then let the wax cool to the proper temperature before adding fragrance. br>br>Here are a few minor issues I've encountered:
1. The spigot's gasket is leaking a little. I expect to need to replace it soon, but it has been used a lot.
2. Because the legs on the pot are short, you'll need to pour from the edge of a counter top or, like me, set it on top of a small wooden crate with enough room underneath for my pitcher and scale.
3. Because the spigot is so high, you'll have to tilt the entire pot to get the remaining wax out if you don't refill the wax frequently. This isn't always an issue for me because I add wax when the container is about 3/4 full. br>br>Overall, I would strongly recommend this pot to any crafters or small businesses in need of a boost, as it far outweighs the use of a hot plate and double boiler!.
This was purchased as a present for my daughter, who makes candles and soap. This simplifies the process of melting waxes compared to previous methods. Her production time was cut in half, and it was much cleaner as a result. I would strongly suggest it.
It's well worth the money because it works well and saves a lot of time.
It works in a flash. So, I was able to more than double my output in a shorter amount of time, which I adore!.
It can hold more than a gallon of melted wax and is extremely easy to use. It also comes with a how-to book and a pour tap; simply add wax, set the thermostat, add color chips, unplug the pot, add scent oil, and fill your molds after all wax has melted. Before I got this pot, I was melting wax in a double boiler on the stove. I used to always spill or make mistakes, and I could never make more than a couple of candles at a time, but now I can make candles quickly and easily with this pot, with no spills or mistakes.
I've never removed or loosen the spout. Now I had to try to tighten it up as much as I could in the direction of a complete turn. Although the concept speeds up the process of making candles, it is simply a modified Presto pot. They only had to drill a hole and place a spicket in it. They can't even do that correctly, as you can see!.
