Would anyone be able to describe how this differs from ?

There is no real difference between them, as far as I know. As I have used both, I don't know how to tell them apart. Maybe ask on the Tim Holtz site.

How well does the collage medium work for fixing inks sprayed with oxides?

This is not something I would do. Ink oxide is activated by water in the collage medium, so I'm fairly sure that will work. If you spray the oxide over it, you can apply a fixative.

Does it have a purpose in decoupage?

This is a thick, glue-like medium, no doubt. The drying process leaves a clear finish. My favorite thing to use it for is decoupage and card making.

It is similar to matte modge podge, isn't it?

Yes, it is a mixed media product. Modge Podge acts more as a glue. It should be used in mixed media projects rather than on paper.

As far as the end result goes, Distress Collage Medium is equivalent to other Matte Medium products, but I find it to be creamier and much more preferable to the others. Art journaling is something I do and this is really great for adhering decorations and papers as well as providing a non-stick surface An additional medium can be applied to the surface due to its porous nature.

Drawing for relaxation has been a major part of my life for years but I am just getting into art journaling now. My favorite way to collage things is to draw over the collage and then collage more things. Because so many collage mediums are used, the pages of the journal As far as I can tell, this is the only medium where I needn't worry about that. This book is worth every penny!.
