They are designed to hold 4x6 photos, although I think smaller photos would work too. In older photos of my mother and grandparents that were smaller in size, I used tape to secure them by writing on the side of the photo or attaching it to the edge of the holder with tape. My only recommendation would be to make sure the packaging does not break. As you can see, this album does not separate.
