The idea of doing this is completely foreign to me
5/5

Hello, this is my first post. In order to open a craft store, I bought 3 of them. The machine was set up in less than an hour and I was able to upload my own art to be used in vinyl cutting and transfer the results to my wall within an hour. I like how intuitive it is and how fast and quiet the machine is. In the wake of my test pattern, I am feeling confident, bold and excited about my future.

The results so far have been disappointing
3/5

Having opened and returned the box the package was shipped in, it appeared it had been damaged. We're giving the Maker a chance since it was enclosed in plastic. The second issue is, there is no instruction manual, so there was no way to find out that it could not be updated while it was connected I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get the firmware to work, but I eventually went online and found a page that explained we needed to be hooked up to a Mac to make the firmware work. In the box would have been nice an explanation of how to use the Maker, especially since you have to upgrade the firmware as the first step. In the end, we got the firmware updated and went on to make the mug cutout for the bear. It was perfectly cut by the Maker, so we felt a bit The transfer tape was applied to the bear head after it was cut out. Applying the transfer tape properly required the use of a squeegee. As a result of following the video (all steps were followed) we tried to pull it off with the head, but it wouldn't come off. There was no way that it would transfer everything, not even for a bodybuilder like me, who is 215 pounds. As I sat there for another 30 minutes putting pressure on the transfer tape, I eventually managed to get it on the A third problem is that the unit comes with no accessories Just a blade, no manual, no mat, no tools, and a few sheets of "smart Material," which doesn't turn out to be all that smart. We did a lot of research, and it came down to the Maker, and the Cameo 4, and we chose the Maker because it was touted as being "easier to use," and "less of a learning curve. " I’ll be honest. It wasn’t as complicated as I thought. Having been a designer for many years, I am familiar with Adobe Illustrator, so design space is rather easy to use for me, however the Smart Material, and transfer tape they supplied with the unit (the measly amount included for a 400 dollar purchase) are a bit It did little to impress us, because we craft as a family, since I have a heat press, and a 3D printer, and we know how to use transfer tape to remove pattern, so, the Maker 3 and provided materials flummoxed Although it can be returned within 30 days, we are going to give it a few weeks to see what happens. In the end, it will likely go back for a.

I am saddened by this
3/5

To foil and cut leather I purchased this machine for the main reason of foiling and cutting leather. After multiple attempts and wasted materials, I gave up and got a Cricut instead. A non American support person apologized and explained it was a known issue and was software-related, but provided no ETA for the All of the materials I was offered were back ordered, so I was not offered replacements. A few hundred dollars later, I have a piece of equipment that does everything but what I wanted it to do.

It flashes red when you press the power button! You won't be able to cut in Maker 3! In my first two projects I was able to print according to the instructions
3/5

Then when I went to my third project, the power button suddenly blinked red. The machine then stopped in the middle of my I've tried it several times, and it always starts to cut, but it quits somewhere in the middle of the cut (or sometimes even before it starts). this happens, all I can do is press the power button to turn the computer In my research and testing of what type of material could be causing this, I've wasted many different kinds of materials. It could also be done on a mat or without one. All possible blockages in the blade were checked, but none were found. A forced firmware update was performed after the machine was reset. Multiple times went left and right with the carriage. This did not work for any of them. **I am so frustrated! **I am so frustrated! Next week, I need to turn in an important project! It would cost me about $100 to return this machine! That's why I requested a replacement only after realizing that it would not be free. There's no justification for this! When did I pay for shipment when I ordered the machine and now am paying ridiculous shipping charges to return it? There's no reason for me to do this! In addition to that, the queues at USPS are a hassle! The total cost of getting this machine is not worth it! Even if I receive a replacement (which hopefully will also work), the total cost for getting it is still too expensive!.

The Maker is a great multitasking machine
5/5

I've had an Explore Air 2 for four years and was contemplating buying the Maker due to its increased cutting capacity. Our choice was based on the smart material compatibility of this newest model. There is no reason why you can't cut through You can use Smart Materials brands and other brands besides Cricut. You just need to use This machine cuts super fast with smart materials and is quicker than my Explore Air 2 with other materials with its There are no tools or mats developed for the last generation of machines that do not The machine I have is amazing.

Cut through basswood but not all the way
3/5

The product was literally bought to cut through bass wood, though I tried different brands and types to see if it was the wood that caused it not to work. It took me a million times to calibrate the cricut brand knife blade. Regardless of the toughness of the material, it will be cut through. It took me like 20 to 30 passes to the point of wasting my time to even start trying. I will be returning after this very upsetting experience.
