Questions & Answers
It is not necessary to wash. It is common for wool, even clothing, to smell when pressed
There is a New Zealand-made version of this
Included with the set is a bag of felt notions. It was great to use this pressing mat yesterday since I used it all day long.
Would you be able to use a steel sponge to scrub on your iron after spraying a grease reliever onto it? The wool mat has never come in contact with my iron. Since these mats are so hot, it's important to be careful when they are on surfaces that might heat up. When her mat fell on her granite counter top, she cracked it. It will not be a problem if you put a board under it. You don't need a high heat for it- I'd say moderate is good enough. Let me know if your iron is starting to look a little dirty. I'm not sure but maybe goo gone will do. Wishing you a good day.

The quality and affordability of the one suggested on a quilting website I visit convinced me to buy it. This is such a great book, I'm so happy I ordered it! Yesterday, I tried out the iron for the first time and was impressed by the flatness of the seam caused by a quick pressing on Aside from the rounded corners, I also like the design. I am extremely happy with my purchase.
It was impossible for me to get my fabric to stay flat without starch, so I cut off the center of the jellyroll and worked my way around the crease in the fabric. No longer do you have to waste money on creases with this wool ironing mat! Create a beautiful quilt without spending a fortune! It would not even cross my mind to give these to my quilting buddies as gifts for my daughter's birthday!.
Using it allows me to press as I sew, which is much easier than using an ironing board. I am able to use my iron on the steam setting without much hassle. If you're in the market for a new mat, this one is my recommendation. The reason I rated it a 3 in the "For traveling" category is simply because I think it would be rather bulky. To be honest, I did not think I'd use one in the first place.
It's great to have an ironing pad like this. My quilting career has lasted for about ten years now, and I don't know why I have not bought this item It has now been two weeks since I purchased them.
I was hesitant to purchase a wool mat due to my allergies. This mat has driven me to face my biggest fear. As soon as you open the package, the package odors like sheep on a farm. SMELL to 20 is woken up by IRONING it on it! Don't even think about it! Also, the mat I used for cutting had to be sprayed with 409 and let sit overnight to get rid of the sheep-like smell. A couple of days outside and my Dritz cutting mat is fine and free of odors. It has been over a week since I emailed the family owned company to ask for suggestions in eliminating the Oder, but I haven't received a response, so I decided to leave a review since I can't get a response from them already. There is still a need for a mat, but I will have to make one.
Therefore, when I saw this one for a reasonable price, I thought I'd give it a try despite the reviews about its Wet dog smell was what I expected, and it really does smell like that. In the beginning, I could hardly tolerate the smell. Despite the fact that it was winter, I opened the nearest I have noticed a considerable reduction in odor after awhile, but my husband still finds it noxious. As for creating flat seams, I don't see much difference between the wool mat and canvas when it comes to creating them- An I made for myself a covered pressing board- I particularly like to use a clapper if I have an audience. In any case, the wool mat would be great for aligning seams and pinning seams on a quilt, and I can see how it would be useful if you have to "block" a quilt.
My sewing station is made up of a very small space, and your pad eliminates the need for setting up an ironing board all the time. I'm a quilter and must press as I work on my projects. You are welcome. Thank you, also, for the glasses case Is Judy ).
In my opinion, it was a great deal, but if you cannot use it, then it doesn't matter. I can't describe how it smelled, which was outlandish. All the masks I was making as well as the entire room were filled with a sweet smell. We had to discard them because we couldn't get the smell out of When my family entered my sewing room, they immediately turned around due to the strong odor.
