There are a few squares not quite 20 inches

The fabric in the pattern I chose comes in 20 inch squares, so I didn't have to waste 10 inch squares of 100% cotton fabric. The fabric has a smooth surface and works well with the coordinating patterns. According to the squares, each of them measures about 19 3/4 inches each.
